When Luke and i finally got to my house Aslen and Diamond sighed with relief. Though Luke and i did not. My mom was sitting on the back porch still in her bath robe . Her light brown hair sparkled in the moonlight. She looked beautiful. She would have looked even more beautiful if she wasn't crying. Her mascara was running down her eyes and she had the worst expression on her face. I'm in so much trouble I thought. She looked up when she heard the horses approach. "Rowin! Where have you been?" She got up and ran to my side. "I'm so sorry mom! I was in the woods and this horse i'm on came up behind me and-" I didn't get to finish my sentence. "I don't want to hear it. Tell me all about it later. All i want to know is...who's this boy?" She pointed to Luke.
"I'm Luke...umm...Ma'am," Luke stuttered. My mom nodded, "Well whether this horse is yours or not, i suggest you leave and take it with you," she said nodded her head in the direction of Aslen. 'Yes ma'am. I'll be on my way after Rowin gets off Aslen," Luke responded. My mom gestured for me to get off. I reluctantly got up and swung my leg over Aslen's back landing roughly on the ground. I handed Luke Aslen's reins and after a thank you from my mom they disappeared into the darkness of the forest.
"You're in big doodoo missy," my mom yanked my arm and pulled me through the back door. "Look i can explain. Please let me explain," I pleaded. "Go ahead. It better be good," She said. I nodded and told her how i was just sittin by the creek and minding my own business when that horse came over and i couldn't resist. She listened intently without interupting. I told her how Luke scared the horse and made me fall from the horse. I told her about me being treated with a cold rag and how Luke brought me over on Alsen so i wouldn't be that late.
When i was done she nodded and said, "Well that was very...nice..of them to treat you with a cold rag. But i still am going to ground you." My mouth dropped open, " What! Mom it wasn't my fault the stupid boy scared the horse! That isn't fair!" "I think it's plenty fair. It IS you fault that "stupid" boy scared the horse," she explained. "How's it MY fault?" i asked. "You decided to get on the horse didn't you. If you never got on that horse in the first place you would have never fallin off and you would have never been late causing me to ground you. It's all on you. Now go to you bedroom. I dont want to hear anymore," She yelled. " But they gave me hot chocalate," I mourned.
"I said i don't want to hear anymore. Go to your bedroom," she commanded. " How long will i be grounded?" i asked. My mom thought about it for a while then she said,"A week." Inside i was yelling, "What! I was only five minutes late!" But of course i didn't say that. Instead i said, "Ok. Whatever," then i murmered, "Have fun ruining my life," as i ran up the stairs. I din't know if she heard me or not but i hope she didn't.
I got ready ready for bed and got my PJs on. Then i laid down in my bed mourning about what i would do while i was stuck in my bedroom for a week. An idea suddenly popped up in my head. My mom was going to work tomorrow. I was going to sneak out.
