Finally ,around 12:00, Luke came out dressed and ready to ride. I had been riding Aslen since at least 7:00 waiting for Luke. "Where have you been?" I asked. He shrugged, "I sleep late on weekends." "I can tell. Anyways i hope you don't mind me riding Aslen. I was supposed to be grounded but my mom's at work so i snuck out," I told him. "Yea. My dad told me about it. You have about an hour left till you have to leave," He pointed out. "Yea. I guess so. Whatever. Can we just ride?" i asked. Luke nodded and gestured for me to stay where i was as he ran into the barn only to return on Diamond.
He started a trot then a canter then a gallop. He rode past me making my hair fly back. I took a deep breath and decided i would kick Aslen's belly. I know I know...last time i fell off. Luke rode past me again. Ugh...ok thats it i'm kicking his belly! I clenched a handful of his mane and kicked. He jolted off. But i didn't even fall off!!! Aslen and i finally managed to slide past Luke and Diamond. It almost seemed like we were in a race. We went back and furth. He would be ahead of me at times and then BAMM! I was ahead. We fnally came to a draw when my watch beeped 1:00. "Guess i better be on my way," I said. "Yea. Hey! How bout i take you over on Aslen again. It'll be much faster than running or walking," He suggested. I nodded and started to canter towards the gate that led to my house. I kicked Aslen's belly and he galloped. I had never jumped over a gate before, but i knew the right position i had to make so i wouldn't fall. Before i jumped it just seemed like Aslen and me were the oly people on earth. I knew Luke was trotting behind me and my mom was at work, but for some reason it FELT as if it were just us. I got into my postion and Aslen got into his. He bent his knees...He came off the ground...and across the gate we went. I pulled his reins when we landed smoothly on the ground. I turned to see Diamond and Luke galloping. I guess he wanted to try a jump, too. Diamond came off the ground and Luke went into his postion. They also landed smoothly. "Wow! That was awesome wasn't it?" I exclaimed. Luke nodded and took off in the direction of my house. I smiled and followed.
We reached my house and i hopped of Aslen. 'Thanks for bringing me home," I said handing the reins to Luke. "MmmHmmm. I guess i'll see you whenever you aren't grounded...or if you come over and you're still grounded. Whatever the case may be," He said. I waved good bye and walked inside. As soon as i got to the kitchen the phone rang. It was my mom agian. I answered, "Hello?" "Ahh good Rowin. I've been calling you for a while. Where have you been?" She asked. "I was upstairs. Cause you know..I'm grounded," I lied. "Okay. Well i've been thinking about it and i've decided not to ground you for a week. Last night you had a good piont. You WERE only five minutes late. Tomorrow is your last day to be grounded," She ecplained. I yelped. YES!!! "Are you ok?" She asked. "Yes. Of-of course. Thanks. I got to go now," I said and hung up the phone. I ran up stairs and got back into my pajamas. Just so she didn't ask why i was dressed. For the rest of the day i just hung out. Got on facebook texted my friends, stuff like that.
Finally my mom walked in. "Hey sweetheart! How was your day?" She asked. "Mmmm It was good. I was kinda bored<" I lied. My day wasn't even good. It was great. And i apsolutely positively wasn't bored. Then came the question i was hoping she wouldn't ask. "What did you do while i was gone?"
