"Okay, now lay on your board like this."

I followed Piper's movements as she showed me how to get ready for the waves.

We waited for a minute or so, then Piper scowled. "The waves are too small. We'll have to wait until another day."

"Pipes, I'm right here. How high you want them?"

She facepalmed. "Start 'em about two feet high and grow them as we go."

I nodded and began to work the ocean, changing the currents temporarily so we could have some fun.

The first wave rolled in and Piper shook her head, angling her board in a way so it wouldn't go to shore.

"Bigger!" She called.

I added a foot on and she nodded. "Better! Let's go!"

As the wave behind us caught up to our boards, we began to paddle. Once we got caught, Piper smoothly stood up.

"Your turn, Perce!" She waved for me to do what she had done.

It took me a moment to visualize the movement she'd done, but I got it quickly and pushed myself to my feet.

"Great job!" Piper cheered as we shot in towards the beach.

I grinned at her and increased the size of the wave propelling us.

"Kelp Head!" She yelped, then laughed.

"Let's go again!" I called when the wave died down.

"Definitely!" Piper turned her board around and we once again began the trip out.

After about an hour of me trying to push Piper off her board and the two of us goofing off, I heard a familiar voice from the beach.

"Seaweed Brain!"

"Hey, Wise Girl, come on in, the water's great!" I shouted to her.

She laughed. "No thanks. Get over here."

Manipulating the wave, I shot towards her, leaving Piper to surf alone.

"What's up, Wise Girl?"

"Nothing really, I just wanted to spend some time with you." She smiled.

I grinned. "Well..."

"Well what?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Meet me in the center of the cabins in 20 minutes. Dress nicely." I kissed her on the cheek and waved at Piper, then ran towards the cabins.

"Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth's indignant voice followed me. "What are we going to do?"

"Just go get ready!"

POV SWITCH

I watched my Seaweed Brain run to the cabins. He'd made no sense just now, but I figured it was just excitement of whatever he was planning.

"Where's he going?" Piper asked.

"I dunno... He said dress nicely, but I mostly have t-shirts and jeans."

"Go ask Lacy, I'm sure she can help." Piper grinned.

I nodded and headed in the direction of the cabins.

"Lacy!" I knocked on the door of the Aphrodite cabin.

"Oh, hi Annabeth!" The blonde threw open the door with a grin. "What's up?"

"Percy wants to take me somewhere, I think, and he said dress nice. Do you have anything I could borrow that's not over the top?"

"Sure, come on in."

I stood in the center of the cabin while Lacy rummaged through various trunks. Sharing clothes seemed to be a popular thing in this cabin, there were articles of clothing strewn over beds and hanging out of trunks on hangers.

"How about this?" Lacy held up a gray knit top. "You could wear jeans with it still, a lighter wash, and a button down shirt under it."

"That could work. Thanks Lacy." I took the shirt and headed over to my cabin.

Glancing over at the Poseidon cabin, I wondered again what Percy was up to.

In my cabin, I quickly changed into light jeans, a button down, and the sweater Lacy gave me. I grabbed a pair of grey converse and slipped them on my feet, then checked my watch.

"Ten minutes." I grabbed my hairbrush and pulled my hair into a ponytail, then lay on my bed and contemplated what Percy could have planned.

Checking the time again, I decided to go wait outside.

"There's my Wise Girl." Percy said from behind me. "You look wonderful, as usual."

"Thank you, Percy. What are we doing?" I asked.

"You'll see. Let's go ask Chiron for permission to leave camp."

"We're leaving camp? It's not a mission, he probably won't let us leave."

"He's let you leave camp for a date before." Percy grinned at me.

"That didn't count, it wasn't a date."

"That's what I keep saying, but no one believes me." He laughed and kissed me quickly, then grabbed my wrist and gently pulled me towards the Big House.

"Seriously, Seaweed Brain, where are we going?"

"You'll see! Just relax and ride it out." He said, slowing down and taking my hand normally, walking next to me.

I rolled my eyes, but smiled and leaned my head on his shoulder. "Alright, fine."

"You'll like it, I promise."
