After dinner, we went to a carnival nearby. A familiar face had been working in the dunk tank and let's just say I had made the water just a little bit colder before dropping her into it.

"Who was the girl in the dunk tank?" Annabeth asked when we were in the car, driving back to camp.

"A girl by the name of Nancy Bobofit." I said with a shrug. "She used to bully Grover and I before I found out I was a demigod."

"So that's why she was shivering so bad." Annabeth muttered.

"Maybe, maybe not." I shrugged and tried to keep an innocent face.

"I see that smirk, Perseus Jackson." Annabeth pointed at my face, semi-accusingly.

"Well then there's no point in hiding it." I turned my head and kissed her fingertip lightly.

"You dork." She laughed, pulling her hand away.

"But I'm your dork. And that's the only part I care about."

She laughed again and we fell into a comfortable silence, thinking about the last two hours we had spent together during dinner and at the carnival.

Annabeth reached into the back of the car and grabbed the stuffed dolphin she had won at an archery game. The guy running it had offered to let me try, but I had hastily declined.

"I'm going to name him Neró."

"Ocean?" I translated curiously. "Or like the old man in California?"

"Like ocean, Seaweed Brain."

"Okay. How do you know it's a him?"

"Percy, it's a stuffed animal, it doesn't have a gender."

"I'm just saying, it could be a girl dolphin."

She rolled her eyes at me. "I'm naming it Neró and that's that."

"Okay, okay." I held my hands up in surrender for a moment, holding the steering wheel straight with my knee.

"Hands on the wheel, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth ordered, reaching into the back again and grabbing the container of cotton candy we'd purchased. "Want some?"

"You just said keep my hands on the wheel." I reminded her with a smirk.

"I'll feed it to you, idiot." She replied affectionately. "Do you want some or not?"

"Yes please." I grinned and she popped the cap off.

While Annabeth separated pieces off of the cotton candy, I turned on the radio again.

"Our romantic weekend playlist continues with Miss Movin' On!"

I raised an eyebrow. Didn't seem like a great pick for romance, but if that's what they were playing, whatever.

"I'm breaking down, gonna start from scratch.

Shake it off like and Etch-A-Sketch.

My lips are saying goodbye

My eyes are finally dry."

Annabeth reached over and pressed the search button, changing the channel.

"Hate that song." She muttered.

After channel-surfing for a minute or so, a familiar song came on. It was halfway through, but we didn't really care.

"Stop, wait a minute,

fill my cup put some liquor in it!"

I turned my head to Annabeth and opened my mouth, sticking out my tongue lightly and grunting childishly.

"Would you like some?" She teased.

"Yeth." I kept my tongue out as I answered and soon sweet sugar hit my tastebuds.

"Thanks, Wise Girl."

"No problem, Seaweed Brain."

"Jackson, Missisisippi,

If we show up, we gon' show out

smoother than a fresh dry skippy!"

Annabeth and I began to sing along.

"I'm too hot!"

"Hot damn!"

"Called a police and a fireman, I'm too hot!"

"Hot damn!"

"Make a dragon want to retire man, I'm too hot!"

"Hot damn!"

"Say my name you know who I am, I'm too hot!"

"Hot damn!"

"And I'm bad about that money

break it down!"

The song ended just as we pulled up next to Camp. Leo was waiting, bouncing up and down excitedly.

"How'd she drive?" He asked as I killed the engine and got out of the car, rounding it and opening Annabeth's door for her before reaching into the back and grabbing my jacket.

"Like a dream. Nice work, Valdez." I handed him back the keys.

"Oh, no way. You keep those. I made it for you."

"Wait, you aren't the valet?" I joked.

"Do I look like a valet?" Leo asked, gesturing to his greasy clothes and toolbelt.

"Good point. Can you park it for me anyway?"

"Yeah, I'll bring you the keys when I'm done." He took them and fired the car up again.

"Thanks, Leo." I called over the engine, then turned and offered my arm to Annabeth, leading her up the hill.

I walked her to her cabin, as the sun was getting pretty low.

"I'll tell Chiron that the two of us are back, I know you're probably tired."

"Percy, tonight was really sweet." Annabeth smiled at me.

"Well I need to make sure you know I love you." I insisted.

"Trust me, Seaweed Brain, I can tell." She kissed me softly and went into her cabin.

I felt like I was floating the whole way to the Big House.
