Nika KEA XC Vet Check Short

The next day, Tama went to get Nika. She just hoped the mare had calmed down by now. If she hadn't, well it would be a long day. Luckily Tama had calmed down and was practically sleep walking when Tama brought her out of the stall.
"Couldn't sleep?" Tama chuckled getting a face full of air as Nika snorted in reply. "It's okay, neither did I. I was worried that we'd be disqualified because of your behavior yesterday Nika." Nika shook her head and snorted again. "Well, at least I learnt something new about you nika, you hate being confined. It'll get easier."
With that Tama began leading Nika to the Vet room, not saying a word about where they were going to not spook Nika in case she knew the word vet. Once they arrived at the vet office Nika pulled her head up high. She almost looked like a giraffe her head was so high. Nika was clearly nervous and Tama knew that wouldn't end well.
"Hey, its okay Nika," Tama said reaching into her pocket and pulling out some treats. "If you bring your head down you can have these tasty Sugar cubes"
Nika looked down at the treats in Tama's hand. Sugar cubes were her favorite but the area looked so scary. Finally Nika gave in and brought her head down to eat the sugar cubes. Tama decided to walk Nika around the clinic to get her use to the surroundings before the vet came in.
Once the vet came in, they needed to get Nika's weight. So Tama carefully led Nika onto the metal scale. The first thought to come to Nika's mind was the metal platform from the trailer. She instantly neighed in protest and backed up. Tama then stepped onto the scale and pulled out a carrot and sugar cubes. This won Nika over.
"You can have them when you stand still on that scale"
Nika began to protest but quickly have in to get the treats.
The vet finished his exam and gave Tama and Nika the clear to compete in the Kurokitsune E A Cross Country competition.
