THEY DON'T LET us out.
Edward and I squirm through the overenthusiastic crowd, and Edward's apparently vexed parents, wriggling our bodies together and successfully getting out of the place.
One look at my watch on my left wrist tells me it's half past eight. I have no idea where he's taking me, but the only feeling that constantly elates me is that he officially stated that I was his girlfriend. Well, there may be no such a thing as official or unofficial in love but still.
My hands in his and my shoulder rubbing over his arms, we walk together on the deserted road, as the moon goes higher and higher in the sky.
"Do I know where you're taking me?" I ask him, walking with long steps so that I can catch up with him.
"No", he smiles warmly at me before he tightens his grip on my fingers again.
My dress, which doesn't cover some of the sensitive parts of my body, pulls itself upward as I run with him, and my legs shiver in the cold weather. My ankles ache due to the high heels that they behold, and I let out a groan.
"God", I complain, panting a little, "I can't walk with this footwear, and especially with this dress!"
"You're my girl", Edward stresses on 'my', looking at me, "You can do this till we get there. For me, please?"
I nod, melting for his words, setting a determination for myself.
After crossing several unpeopled streets and walking for more or less fifteen solid minutes, we stop in front of a tiny house - or I must rather say, a shanty.
There are no other houses in the street. The shanty per se looks abandoned. But what attracts me more is the lake just behind the house, its frozen and cold water mirroring the moonlit sky. The fresh smell of the water from the lake mixed with the humidity in the air reaches my nose and I close my eyes, taking in a deep breath.
