It was September 4th. Tori was her name. She was 4"11', she had long curly brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. She had freckles and a pretty smile. Tori was so nervous to start her first day of high school, especially in a brand new town. She put on her clothes, and went into the kitchen to have breakfast. She checked the time while she ate and realized how quick time went by. "You ready hun'?" Her mother asked. "Yeah..." Tori said nervously. "You'll be fine, just walk in with your head up high, and a smile." Her mother said grabbing her keys. Hearing the noise of her mothers keys made Tori even more nervous. Tori's little brother, Robbie, had just got on the bus and went off to school. Tori grabbed her pink and white backpack, looked in the mirror and took a deep breath. "Start of something new." She said to herself. Her and her mother got into the car and Tori turned on the radio to play some music and drain out some stress. Her mother began driving out of their neighborhood. As they got closer to the high school, Tori's heart began to pound quicker and quicker. She saw as some teenagers were pulling into the high school parking lot and some teenage boys giving their friends the middle finger while they laughed. Tori looked at her schedule, her A period class was Algebra. She gave her mother a kiss goodbye and walked into her class. Everyone stared at her. She walked in with a smile and went to the first empty desk she saw. She looked around the room and saw a girl next to her, smiling. "Are you new?" She asked. "Yeah! My name is Tori." She replied. "I'm Britain." She said taking out her pencil. Tori smiled. The teacher walked in. "Welcome my fellow students. I'm Mr. Howard." He said walking in and placing his briefcase on the desk. Two teenage boys walked into the classroom. "Sorry, we are late." One of the boys laughed. "Tardy on the first day?" Mr. Howard asked in shock. "It's whatever." They laughed. They sat in the back of class. Their names were Miles and Steven. Miles had dark hair and blue eyes. He was about 5"8' and he looked Italian. Steven had blonde hair and brown eyes, being around the same height. He had chubby cheeks and a big smile. They were juniors. Mr. Howard started to take attendance. Tori looked at everyone when their name was called as they said "here". "Nathan Sullivan?" Mr. Howard said. Nathan raised his hand. He was a junior football player at the high school. He had dark hair and he was about 6"4'. He was also new. Nathan looked over at Tori. She looked away quickly, feeling embarrassed. She peered her eyes over noticing that he was still looking. A smile crept upon his face. She smiled back and they both looked away. Britain noticed it but kept it to herself with a smile. Meanwhile, Mr. Howard was getting all
the syllabus papers handed out from one of the fellow girl classmates, Megan. "Good first day so far..." Tori thought. As the day progressed, she was starving. She met up with her other friend Bridget, who was also new to the school. They sat and had lunch together, talking about how their first days went. "Any cute boys?" Bridget asked. "Yeah, this kid named Miles in my Algebra class is really hot!" Tori blushed. "I wish I knew what he looked like." Bridget said. Tori looked around while eating her pepperoni pizza and suddenly gasped. "Over there!" Tori said. Bridget looked over as Tori pointed Miles out. He was sitting at a lunch table with some friends on the other side of the cafeteria. "Oh girl he's a charmer." Bridget giggled. Tori blushed. Last period came along, it was history. She saw that Britain was in her class so she sat in front of her, the only available seat near Britain. Their teachers name was Ms. Caroline. She took attendance and after she went over the class syllabus, she told us what we needed for her class. A group of boys in the back of the class continuously kept being a distraction. "Adrian and Ryder if you two don't stop talking.....do not make me write you up on the first day." She said with a serious tone in her voice. "Sorry Ms. Caroline." Ryder said shyly. "Yeah sorry. Ryder kept trying to tell me a joke but I tried telling him to shut up." Adrian said while trying not to laugh. "What, that's not true!" Ryder said trying not to laugh. "Adrian, Ryder, keep it to yourself." Ms. Caroline demanded. "Okay jeez." Adrian laughed. Tori looked back at Britain in shock. "I used to date Adrian in kindergarten." Britain whispered. "Good for you girl, he's cute." Tori giggled. "Yeah, but he cares way too much about sports and he has a girlfriend." Britain said. "Ah I see. It's okay, I'm new here so scoping out cute boys isn't bad. I mean, we are in high school." Tori laughed. "I haven't had a boyfriend in so long." Britain said. "I haven't had a boyfriend in five years. I'm literally trying to find the ONE for
me because I want an actual relationship." Tori said. "You'll find someone don't worry." Britain said with a smile. "Thanks,
I just wonder who it'll be, ya know." Tori said.
