Expect the unexpected

Chapter two

The first week of school went pretty well. Tori became friends with multiple people, she familiarized herself with how her transitions from class to class went. Over the weekend she looked on the school website at the sports department page. She was an athletic girl and she loved sports. She knew a football game was coming up soon at her high school and she was definitely going with Britain.
Sunday came along and she had some homework to do. Being any average teenager, she waited until the day before to start her homework. Around dinner time, her mother had taken the chicken out of the oven and called Tori and Robbie to eat. As they ate, they talked about how their first week of school went. "There's a cute boy in my algebra class, his name is miles." Tori said. "Oh how nice!" Her mother said with a big smile. Tori smiled while she ate as she thought of Miles and how excited she was gonna be tomorrow when she saw him in algebra. Monday morning came and she got up, straightened her hair and threw on some jeans, white converse and a pink Victoria secret top. Her mom drove her to school and gave her a kiss goodbye. She met up with Britain and they walked around the halls together until the A period class bell rang. They walked around while scoping out cute boys. They stopped in the rotunda of the school to try and find Britain's cellphone in her light blue jansport backpack. Tori saw as Nathan walked by.....on crutches. "Hey that kid Nathan in our algebra class is on crutches." Tori said with sympathy. "Awe man that sucks." Britain said still digging through her backpack. "Found it!" She said with a joyful facial expression. Tori laughed. They began to head to algebra. When they walked in, Nathan was sitting there with his crutches leaning on the side of his desk. He looked up at Britain and Tori. They sat down and pulled out their homework. Miles and Steven walked in. They sat with Nathan. Britain was playing an app on her phone and Tori just dozed off into space, scarcely listening to the conversation miles was having with Nathan. "Broke my leg at football practice. " she heard Nathan say. She faintly heard miles reply but couldn't make it out. "Not a big deal I mean I move schools a lot so I would probably play for a lot of football teams." She heard Nathan say, following a laugh. "Oh no wonder he's new." Tori thought. Mr Howard walked in and asked Brandon, a 16 year old fellow classmate, to collect the homework. Brandon was a good kid, he was what you would call a stoner but other than that, he was just another cool kid trying to hide his intelligence. "Homework?" Brandon asked Britain. "Oh sorry, I-my dog bit the top part." Britain shyly giggled while blushing. "Nah it's all good." Brandon replied lightly placing it on top of the homework pile. Tori mouthed the words "you like him" to Britain. Britain turned red and smiled while shaking her head. "You so do!" Tori whispered. Britain looked around the class then back at Tori. "Shh don't say anything!" Britain blushed with a smile. Tori gasped, happy that Britain had a crush on someone. "He's not as hot as miles though." Britain whispered with a giggle. Tori laughed. "Okay everybody, we will be doing some partner work today and being your favorite teacher, I'll be picking your partners." Mr Howard said with a smile. He partnered up Britain with Megan and Tori with Nathan. Tori moved next to Nathan and he gave her a smile. She smiled back. About 35 minutes later, the bell rang for B period. Tori's B period class was
Journalism. She sat with her friends Allison, Melissa and Angie. "Oh my gosh Tori, my ex Alex won't stop trying to get back with me it's crazy." Melissa said. "Alex? The lacrosse player?" Tori asked. "Yeah, he knows I have a boyfriend and he won't give up!" Melissa said. "Tell him to lay off." Tori laughed. "We dated in 8th grade and I'm like, it was never serious Alex, relax." Melissa laughed. "I'm pretty sure he will find someone else and move on." Tori said patting Melissa's shoulder with a laugh. "I hope so, I need him out of my hair." Melissa said sorting through her binder. As the day went on, Tori was walking through the halls to her D period class. She saw Alex pass by her with his friends as he was texting on his phone saying "no she won't reply to me!" To his friends. Tori heard him say it as he passed by and laughed to herself. "He'll get over it." Thinking to herself. Alex was very athletic. He was on the soccer team, hockey team and lacrosse team. He was the tough guy with his boys, but humble with the girls. Not many girls went for him but he went for some girls when he had the opportunity. Last period came and Tori and Adrian walked in the door at the same time. Adrian didn't say anything he just gave her a blank look. She blinked a few times at him, then walked in first. Britain saw and tried not to laugh. "What's up ya bitch." Adrian said to Ryder. Ryder tried not to laugh and tried to be serious, but couldn't. "He has such good manners." Tori said. "Spot on." Britain laughed. "How does his girlfriend put up with that?" Tori asked. "Who knows Tori." Britain said shrugging her shoulders. Tori looked over at across the room at Adrian and watched as him and Ryder were throwing pencils at each other. She laughed and did her class work. "So this is what high school is like."
