The Baby Sitter

Evelyn's Point of View:

"Evelyn we are leaving soon your baby sitter will be here soon." My mom said. I pouted because I didn't want a babysitter. About twenty minutes later I heard a knock on the door.

"Evelyn please go get that." My mom said. I groaned as I walked over to the door. When I opened it my frown turned into a big smile, as I saw Joshie standing in the doorway.

"Joshie what are you doing here?" I said hugging him tightly. "I'm your babysitter kiddo" he said picking me up and hugged me back. He set me down.

"I'm so glad your here, now I'm happy." I said looking in his eyes they seemed to sparkle, and he was so nice. Which is why I liked him.

"Ok the numbers are on the fridge, so you can reach us,call your parents if you need them and also we will be with them." My mom said to Joshie. "Ok thanks." Joshie said. My mom walked out. When she did I jump back in is arms.

"So what are we gonna do Joshie?" I asked smiling really big. "Whatever you want Evelyn." He said setting me on the kitchen counter.

"Can we cook something, because I'm hungry." I said hopping off the counter and started to jump up and down. "Sure, what do you want to cook?" He asked me.

I looked around and thought for a minute, "Cookies! I wanna make cookies!, I mean can we make cookies together!" I shouted. "Ok Evelyn we'll make some yummy chocolate chip cookies." he said

"Yay we're gonna make the best cookies ever, right Joshie?" I said jumping up and down squealing. "You bet sweetie pie." He said ruffling my hair. I giggled I like it when he calls me sweetie pie.

He smiles at me, and when he does I blush hard and hide my face so he cant see that I am blushing. I guess he saw me because He set down the cookie bowl full of mix and said. "Are you blushing Evelyn?"

He then starts to tickle me and I laugh uncontrollably "Ahh no please Joshie you win, you win!" I squeal in between laughing.

"Alright, you want to help me mix the cookie dough?" He asks me picking me up and setting me on a chair so I can actually mix the cookie dough.

"Yes I do, I wanna make a lot of cookies." I say mixing the cookie dough. Eventually the cookie dough got harder to mix.

"Great, its ready." He says rolling them into ball and he puts them on a tray and puts them into the oven. He then grabs the timer and sets it for thirty minutes.

"So what do you want to do for thirty minutes while we wait for the cookies?" Joshie asked me. "Hmm I want to play hide and seek. "I said spinning around.

"Ok, I will count and you go hide ok. "He said as he started counting, I ran and hid under me bed and tried not giggle. "Ready or not here I come!" I hear him as I feel the vibrations of him walking up the steps. He walk around for while.

Until I hear him walk into my room and walk around. I try not breath loudly. All of a sudden the sheet lift up and he says, " I found you!" He pulls me from under the bed and I squeal.

I then kiss him on the cheek. Joshie looks at me weird when I do that. " What was that for?" he asks, "It was you reward for finding me Joshie, what you don't like your reward?" I sad with a sad face.

"No I love the reward, its just you caught me by surprise." He says ruffling my hair and hugging me. Then he asks "So what else do you want to do?" I looked around and said, "Can we play dress up." I say smiling. "Sure we can sweetie." He says. 

"What type of dress up do you want to play." He asks me sitting on my bed. "Can we play the prince and the princess?" I ask looking at him. He put his hand on his chin as if he had to think about it. I crossed my fingers

"Sure why not." I jump up and down, "Really you really mean it." "Yea come on." So I grab his hand and pull him over to the dress up chest. I pull out a crown and put it on his head.

"Look it's a handsome prince." I say putting a crown on my head. "Look I see a beautiful young princess." He says. I just giggle. He hugs me and says. "You're the sweetest little girl ever." 

I squeeze him tight and say, "You're the kindest boy I've ever met. I like you a lot, thanks for being my best friend." "Awe your welcome sweetie pie." He says ruffling my hair.

All of a sudden the timer started ringing. "Yay the cookies are done, the cookies are done yippee!" I shouted with glee running down the stair and into the kitchen.

Joshie followed me into the kitchen. He then put on some oven mitts and said "Stand back sweetheart I don't want you to get burned." So I stepped back

Joshie then picked up a cookie and handed it to me. I smiled with glee and said "Thank you Joshie, you are the best. I love you." "Awww I love you too." I ate the cookie and I ate a couple more.

I now look at Joshie and ask him "Do you have a girlfriend Joshie?" He turns and looks at me now and laughs "Yeah why?" "Oh I was just wondering." I say with a big smile. Now I'm jealous of whoever that is, cause I like Joshie. I didn't want him to be with someone else.

But then I got curious and asked him "Joshie if you didn't have a girlfriend would you be my boyfriend?" He turns to my and slightly laughs, "I'm sorry sweetie I wouldn't be able to be your boyfriend." "Why not Joshie."?

He looks me in my eyes, " You're a little bit too young. Also I don't think your parents would approve. "Oh ok." I say but I at least he was my best friend.

"Hey Evelyn what else do you want to do?" He say picking me up in his arms. I just snuggled my head into his neck. "You really are the sweetest little girl ever." He says hugging me. I bushed a bit and then we played some board games for bit then watched TV and I took a nap.

What woke me up was a knock at the door, Joshie then walked to the door and opened it and. When he did it was my mom and dad. "No I don't want Joshie to go yet." I said squealing.

"Sorry baby girl but I have too." he then hugged me, and I hugged him really tight. Josie can't you spend the night? Please?" I begged him. "I'm sorry sweetheart I can't I have some things I have to take care of when I get home." My mom then tried to hand him some money and he shook his head no.

"Sorry I won't accept that I will watch Evelyn at no charge." He says to my mother. "Are you sure Joshua? Well if you say so, oh and Joshua oh I called you're mother she said you can stay the night."

"She did?" He asks, my mother shook her head, "Yes I talked to her already." I jumped up in to Joshie's arms and squealed "Joshie and I are having a sleep over!"

"Also Joshua, Evelyn's birthday party is next week are you going to come?" My mom asked "Sure I will, and I will see you then."

"I love you Joshie." I say in which a big smile on my face "Oh sweetheart I love you too, I'm coming to your birthday next week." He says hugging me. I kiss him on the cheek, and he kisses mine, and that cause me to smile and also causes my cheeks to turn red. "Your so adorable when you blush." He says, that just causes me to blush even harder.

I go and help him set up his bed on the couch. When it it time to go to sleep I walk with him. Where do you think you're going?" He asks. My mom said I can sleep next to you." "Did she really?" He asked me putting his hands on his hips.

I nod and he motions for me to come. "Goodnight you two!" My mother says we both say goodnight, and I just snuggle real close to Joshie and fall asleep.
