Ch.34

Heyyyy so I changed the cover of the book, sorry if that messed you up, it needed to be modernized. Cause Amanda's changed, the real Amanda, not story Amanda(yet).

After grabbing Luke's hand I run to the escalator.  "Leggo!" I yell hoping our friends will hear me from up here. We stand on the escalator waiting for it to slowly get to the lower level of the store.

"Amanda!!!" Meghan yells starting up the escalator.

"OH NONONONONO" I say to her, shes always on a 'natural' high.  To be honest I don't know how natural it is.

"Hey!" Meghan hugs me. "We've started looking for outfits for you, Calum is way better at this than the rest of us." I look over Meghan's shoulder to find Calum holding a few clothing items.  I giggle at the fact that Calum being good at fashion. 

"Okay, well where would I meet my mom?" I ask, it feels weird to say 'my mom' because I haven't said it in forever.

"um well we though it would be cool to have her over..." Meghan pauses. "Is that okay?" I don't really need to think it over.

"definitely." I say. "So Cal, what do you have?" I ask motioning towards the clothes in his arms. Calum holds up the clothes with Meghan's help to show me.

"okay so the only one I have is very casual." He says and holds up some dark skinny jeans with some rips in the knees and a black crop top with a leather jacket, I've recently been loving the darkened gothic style.

"that's hot." I say.

"and that's all I've found, but we haven't been here very long." Calum says.

"that's okay, keep that one on hold because I really like it, but I'm gonna look around." I say.

I walk around seeing many cute clothing items much of which are clothes i can see myself wearing.

"THIS." Calum nearly yells from across the store. He drops the clothes in Meghan's arms once we've walked over to him. "this is the outfit your wearing." Calum pulls a black and white striped dress off the rack and throws it on me, he grabs the leather jacket from Meghan and layers it over the dress starting a pile of clothing. He grabs some knee high socks and finds some heeled and laced boots to match.

"op okay," I say seeing how this outfit could turn out very cute, and of my style. I dunno I've found myself wearing more black clothing the older I get.

"Jewelry." he says taking us to the necklaces and rings. He finds a geometric necklace and delicately places it onto the pile and then finds some geometric rings to match.

 "I'll go try it on." I say, I always try on clothes because it's just a good idea, except one time when I was like 13 this woman walked in on me changing because I forgot to lock the latch on the door. 

"good idea." Calum insists as he pushes me towards the dressing rooms. I spot Luke laughing at me and I blush, embarrassed. 

I get into the dressing room and slip off all my other clothes. I snatch the dress and push it over my head. The dress itself does me lots of good, complimenting my body just how a dress should. The dress falls just a 1/2 inch to an inch above my knee. I take the socks and slide them on, they reach just under my knee. I tie the heeled boots and put the rings on as well the necklace. Lastly, I take the jacket off the hanger, this is what brings the whole look together, this is what makes the look edgy in the first place. I slide the jacket on, one arm at a time then admire the look in  the mirror.  It looks perfect, Calum knows his fashion.

I unlock the dressing room door and step out expecting them all to be standing there. But i actually open the door to just Luke. 

"You look beautiful." he says. his voice rings in my head and brings a smile to my face. 

"Thanks Luke." I say and go in for a hug, making him smile. 

"The rest are waiting to see you." Luke pulls out of the hug and motions towards the entrence of the dressing room. I walk towards it with Luke following. Once I see all the rest of the boys and Meghan their faces light up in a smile. 

"You look gorgeous." Meghan says. 

"Thank you." I smile and blush at the same time. 

I look at the boys. "Geeze Cal," I say. "you know fashion." Cal smiles. 

Michael whistles making me laugh. "Aye back off mate shes mine." Luke says laughing. 

"This is it, this is what I'm wearing." I say.

I get all the clothes off and walk to the register, I have a 50 from babysitting that I found in my bag, this should cover it. 

"Um Amanda?" Nora questions me before I check out. 

"Yeah?" I say, she walks over to me. 

"Your mom wanted me to give you this." She says pulling out an envelope. "It might come in handy right now." She says. I gently take it and start to open it. 

"Thanks." I say and open the seal. In the envelope, is a letter, a debt card, and a sticky note (on the debt card)

I'll read the letter later, I don't want any chances of me crying right here, right now, so reach for the debt card, I assume that's what Nora was meaning by "needing" it.

The sticky note reads;

Amanda, I am so sorry for not

being there through the years

I hope this makes up for part

of it. <3 ~Mom

I smile at the little note. I miss her sooo much, I'm sorta scared to see her though. I take the card and look at it, in sharpie its written on in the corner. I pull it closer to my eyes. It reads $1000. difhsiuhohiodifwe.

"Next!" The lady at the register calls. I look up at Nora.

"Thank you." I say. Nora nods back at me, smiling.

I walk to the lady at the register and lay the clothes down. That will be $70 please. Geeze so my $50 wouldn't have covered it. I lay the card down on the counter. "Here's that back for you." She hands me my card and starts bagging the clothes. 

"Thank you." I say taking the bag from her and putting the card into my purse.
