She felt a gentle breeze dance across her face as the wind picked up, and she smelled the warm fragrance of the tall meadow and flowers newly in bloom. The pages in her book flipped through like a skit of a cartoon, and the words she was attempting to read have now been folded over. The sun beamed over the slow-steady river, and reflected merrily towards her almost as if it was inviting her in for a quick, cold, relaxing swim. Colorful butterflies danced among the two trees that surrounded her, one of which she leaned against, and they weaved from left to right before her eyes. The calm, whooshing sound of leaves in a tree blowing to the side, eased her, and she flipped back in the book where she had left off before.
An abundance of light seemed to bring out the charm of softness to her features, where her emerald eyes burst of radiance, and her red hair with her bangs kept to the side leading the rest of her hair past her bosom. Her freckles looked as if they were splattered on by a paint brush over her nose and cheek bones.
As she read through a book of poems, the difficulty of reading became stronger. For a girl of the age 12, she had come far with her reading, writing, and speaking. In Cork, Munster (Ireland), it was not easy to obtain books of any sort, but with the work her father does as an agricultural man, he was able to get books every now and then. It's not typical of a woman to read or write, and educate herself, but she pushed to make herself well educated. She heaved a frustrated sigh, and slammed her book shut, tossing it to the side of her.
She ran her small, skinny fingers through her soft hair, and glanced over at the top of the castle just beyond the meadow, where buff guards walk back and forth to guard the walls. This....this is one of the most significant reasons why she sits here all alone. The castle was like a dream home to anyone who lived outside of it, and a dream home it was especially to her. She long dreamt since she was a child of what it was like to step foot inside the castle, where her King Máel Muad mac Brian, Queen Eadan Miach Neasa Brian, Prince Cían mac Máelmuaid Brian, and Princess Adelaide Dáirine Brian, who happens to be the same age as her, 12, reside.
But, a couple of months later, her father died of an unknown illness, and since women were not allowed to own property, her mother and she had to live in the castle as servants to the royals. The castle is where her King Máel Muad mac Brian, QueenEadan Miach Neasa Brian, Prince Cían mac Máelmuaid Brian, Princess Adelaide DáirineBrian, her mother one of the lady's maids Caoimbe, and herself, one of the child servants, Tara reside.
