It had been a very long sleep. I opened my eyes and found myself in the middle of darkness. The place where I am right now is a smelly one. I couldn't even stand it. I only wore my right sandal, for the left one was gone. I can see nothing but darkness, not even a beam of light that will guide my way out of here. I couldn't recall on how I got here.

Am I dreaming? Or this thing might be true? I kept on thinking of what happened but nothing came on my mind. I walked a few paces from that smelly place, lost in the darkness, with my left foot barefooted.

Suddenly, a group of guys came running from the back to my direction. They were shouting so loud that it almost made me deaf. Someone bumped me on the shoulder.

"Hey you!" I shouted but it seems that he doesn't hear anything at all.

A moment later they were all gone, and I managed to get myself out of that place. I ran faster until I reached the busy streets.

My eyes widened when I saw the whole city. Tall buildings, flying cars, bright neon lights, different style of clothings of people, everything has changed. I walked on the street, without knowing where to go , or what to do. My journey now is very, very pointless. As I looked at the surroundings, I can't even think of the date today. This might be a part of my dream- or a nightmare indeed. I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming, but it already hurt me after a lot of times. This is really true, not just an ordinary dream.

I ran away, feeling so lonely to myself. I'm trapped in an unknown place, indefinite time, with new people. I felt like dying, wanting that this dream would end. I want to go back to where I came from. I want to live with my friends and family.

I reached the middle of the city,, filled with bright lights and busy people, even though it's still two o'clock in the morning. I have been here for almost an hour. I walked and walked until I reached an antique store. An hourglass caught my eyes. It was displayed all alone in a glass shelf. The appearance of it brought back something on my mind. It looked like the same hourglass that my mom gave me on my birthday.

I then rushed inside the store and went directly to the store owner.

"Um, excuse me, how much is this hourglass?" I asked, pointing to the shelf where the thing is displayed.

A stout but beautiful woman wearing a pink blouse and a long beige skirt, with an eyeglasses which was new to me, turned to answer me.

"Seventeen dollars."

I searched for some bills in my pocket, but there was none. I was so interested in buying the hourglass, so that I can find a way on how to get back on my time.

We were both silent for a time, until I thought of asking her of a very important matter.

"W-what date is today?" I stammered.

"July 26, 2030." she answered plainly.

I froze out of shock. It was also the same date when I was on a deep sleep. Twenty years have already passed and I still have a young body like this. Now, as I thought of it over and over again, I began to understood everything.

Time travel.
