I was pinned on my place for a few moments. The fact that I am a victim of time travel made me sick. I only see this on movies, and now, I never thought it was brought to reality.

"Hey!" the store owner said and tapped my shoulder. I was a little bit shocked by her action, and it brought me back to my present situation.

"I'm sorry." I said and went out from that shop. I looked at the hourglass for a long time and then ran away.

I am a victim of the so-called "time travel". I remembered that I held an hourglass on my hand on the night of my eighteenth birthday. It was an inheritance taht she gave me.It was from my great great grandmother. She said that I should never turn the hourglass upside-down, for it will do something that can cause disaster. But due to my hard-headedness, I did the opposite one. My deep sleep was the travel through time, and I ended up on this unknown place. Whatever is the real story of that stupid hourglass was set for me to find out.

My left foot is already calloused. I'm thirsty and hungry and worst yet, I would faint at any minute.

I sat on a chair beside a stairway and looked at the busy streets at this hour. Flying cars were whoozing in the air, like cheetahs catching after their prey. Supersonic motorcycles run fast that I almost didn't see them. I stretched out my legs and stared at the people walking down the street. Fashion in my time and fashion in this year have a big difference. It had totally evolved. Women in this year are a lot more sexier than in my time.

A group of women, about my age, passed in front of me with older men by their side. They may be prostitutes paid by these men for a one-night stand. One lady looked at me and took off her shades.

"Hey guys, look at her!" she said as she called the attention of her companions to stop. All of them looked at me.

"She's so old-fashioned! And look at her feet. She only wears the right sandal!" she continued.

"How poor! She's like a child." the other said.

I looked at them with sharp eyes.

" Quit pestering me, you sluts!" I yelled at them.

They all laughed at me.

A man, who was also their companion, came near me with a few bills on his hand.

"Maybe this is all you need, bitch." he said and threw the bills at me.

The dim light above my head made me see the money he threw at me. Seventeen dollars-just enough for me to buy the hourglass.

I picked it up and slapped it on the man's ugly face.

"I don't need your filthy money, you dumbass! Get out of my way or else I'll break your jaw."I shouted at him.

They all ran away, afraid with what I said.

I left the chair where I sat a while ago, and walked to look for something good. As I went on, I felt very dizzy. I leaned on the wall for support. I guess, I couldn't walk a step further.

When I gained a little energy, I walked a few steps, but I fell down. A man suddenly caught me, carrying me in his arms.

I opened my eyes and looked at him.

A sudden memory came into my mind as I looked at the man's face.

He was once a baby, now a grown-up man. He was the one I saw on my birthday twenty years ago.

I remember this guy, but I don't remember his name.

Only his face, his charming and angelic face.

The sunlight hit my face when morning broke in. I woke up, and saw the window wide open. The man who saved me stood by the bedside, looking so serious at me, as if he's going to kick me out of this house.

" Time to get up, girl." he said plainly and closed the curtain hanging on the window.

" Hey, don't call me 'girl' 'cause I have a name." I answered, my voice raised in half the high pitch.

He just stayed quiet and went out of the room.

One thing I noticed was the door has a little computer monitor plastered on it.

He entered a code, and the door broke open.

I ran after him just to get out of the room. It's better because I don't know the door's code.

He was out of my sight when I went out. But what amazed me was the beauty and splendor of the house. It was designed in a beautiful yet modern way. It was like I was on the house of Louis XIV. Bright and big chandeliers are hanging on the roof, huge portraits and high-class furniture are all over the place. I'm like a princess in a fairy tale, but the prince is unknown.

I tiptoed carefully when I walked on the floor, afraid of making a crack tat might piss the man off.

"Actually, you don't have to walk on tiptoes. The floor is strong enough to stand earthquakes of high magnitudes." he said.

I looked at him and nodded. I still have to be very careful because this is not my house.

He grabbed my arm. "Hey, come with me. I need to tell you something."

He dragged me on the staircase until we reached the living room.

"Wow..." I mumbled to myself. The living room is more beautiful than ever. I thank God for bringing me to this place.

"Everyone!!!" he shouted at all the housemaids.

The maids fell in line, ten people in each line, facing each other and making a big space between them.

"This girl, who's beside me right now, will be one of you from now on. Since she has nowhere to go and no family, I hired her as a housemaid. Please be kind to her."

I was shocked.

It totally caught me by surprise.

I have no choice but to accept it.

I swallowed. "Hi, I'm Carmel Davidson. Nice to meet you." I smiled. They all smiled at me in response.

I turned to him." Hey, do I need to take my clothes off? I need to change my uniform."

"No need." he smiled at me and pressed a button on a little machine he was holding.

I looked at myself and saw the radiation change my nightgown into a housemaid uniform. The feather duster appeared in my hand without my knowing.

He smiled at me and walked away.

I smiled to myself, then something crossed my mind. I did all my best to remember his name.

Sean... who was he again?
