Ch 9

Okay this is a kind of boring part but yeah... Enjoy ? // I glanced at Ben. "Good luck," he mouthed. I nodded. As I walked up to the seat I could feel myself shaking. I really don't like public speaking. As I sat Cesar smiled at me. "So, Endymion. What has your favorite thing in the Capitol been so far?" be honest. "I really like the food." I say. Honestly that's the only thing I've enjoyed so far hear. Well except for Ben, but you know.... Cesar laughed. "Yes, that's all very good. What do you do at home?" "I work with the horses. Training, riding, breaking." I highly doubt that these Capitol people know what I'm talking about but it makes me sound smart. Cesar nods. "So is there anyone waiting for you back at home?" I shake my head. "Come on! You must be how old? 16?" I nod again. "Boys must be tripping over themselves for you." I laugh. "Highly unlikely." I say. "Well then, is there anyone you are waiting for?" I pause for a moment. "Well there is one boy... He's sweet, and kind. But strong, and smart, and has always been there for me." I stop. I can almost feel the crowd leaning in to catch my every word, but, if I've timed this right the timer should ring... Right.... Now! I hear the buzzer go off and with relief stand up and walk back to my seat. Ben looks at me and winks. I stick out my tongue and he laughs. "Benjamin Farworth." Ben walks up and talks about his life and friends. He's a serious talker and gets right to the point. That's one thing I like about him. Then suddenly Cesar asks the same question he asked me. "So, is there anyone waiting for you back home?" Ben shakes his head. "No. But there's someone I'll wait for forever. She is beautiful, and down to earth, strong, and a hard worker. But at the same time she's kind and helpful. I've seen her with her older sister and it's so much fun to see her laugh and just be happy." Cesar pats his knee. "Well I hope you are able to go back to her." Ben smiles wryly and I cant help but laugh a little. The timer rings for him too and he sits back down. Our eyes meet and we both smile. I listen patiently for the final interviews and finally they're over. We are escorted off the stage and Ben and I walk back to our level.
