The words went through Ember's mind repeatedly.
'Body of boy found at bottom of building, chopped up.'
"Body of boy, chopped up. Chopped up..?" She thought out loud.
Ember held her rubber band in her mouth by biting it with her front teeth while pulling back her brunette hair into a pony tail. Then, she took the rubber band from her mouth and tied her hair up.
She turned the pages of the newspaper in front of her. She then took the other newspaper and flipped through it. And the other.
She read the headlines of the News that were related to this "incident".
"Body of missing girl found."
"Body of boy found in drainage ditch."
"Body found at drive way believed to be missing boy."She began taking notes of the information she obtained from the different news and then it clicked. The moment of realisation caused Ember to drop the pen she was holding. Staring blankly for awhile, she processed what she just learned. Before taking her notebook and jotting it down.
Back to the present...
"Well, I hope we'll at least gain something from this.."Ember and Conor entered the police station. The swinging door slammed shut after they entered. Their eyes took awhile to get adjusted to the darkness.
Is this place lit by gas lamps or something?Ember and Conor exchanged a look before they continued walking. Incandescent light bulbs filled the place. The paint from the walls were peeling off and the cemented ground was cracked.
Ember looked at the table facing the entrance. There sat a man who look like he is in his fifties. He was reading a newspaper. Ember tried to get his attention by coughing loudly.
"Ahem."
The man looked up reluctantly, "yes?" he asked.
Ember and Conor exchanged a look before looking back at the man.
"Well, you see..."
