Mitch's PoV (this is set in 2016 btw)
I hate flights. For some reason I always get sat behind a crying kid. I looked over at Scott who was just as upset as I was. I put on my earbuds and started going over the show that we had to play in two days. Thankfully, we were about to land. And it looks like Scott and I were the only two who were awake. Avi and our intern, Victoire, were passed out. Kirstie was asleep on Kevin's shoulder.
"Hey, wanna wake them up?" I asked.
"Yeah, I think we're about to land anyway," Scott said and we both stood up.We walked over to Avi first and I placed my cold hands on his forehead. He jumped up and we motioned for him to be quiet.
He looked over and nodded. He leaned over to Victoire and whisper-screamed, "Ah, we're crashing!" Victoire jumped up and grabbed onto the sides of her seat. She saw that we were video taping and immediately went to cover up the lens. Scott and I busted out laughing and Avi was crying from laughing so hard.
"I'm posting it," I said.
"Rude," she said while sitting back in her chair. Scott went to wake up Kirstie and Kevin.
"How long till we land?" Avi asked while rubbing his eyes.
"Like 20 minutes," I said while posting the video.Right on cue, an announcement came on telling people to go to their seats and buckle up. I waved at the two and went back to my seat beside Scott.
Victoire's PoV
I buckled my seat belt and prepared for the rocky descent. I held onto the seat and shut my arms until we were securely on the ground. When I opened my eyes, Kirstie was standing beside us and was smiling at me.
"This is gonna be so fun!" she exclaimed. I grabbed my overhead bag and followed her out of the plane. We saw a sign with Pentatonix on it and followed the man out to a limo. I sat down beside Esther who was jokingly picking on Avi. He was joking back. The two got along so well.
Our luggage was packed into the back and we started towards the arena. The group would practice and I would start my training. I would be photographing the band and the people with VIP access the day of the concert. I would also be carrying bags and things for the band.
We pulled into the stadium and the limo pulled off to take our bags to the hotel. "Victoire, you're with me," a girl said. She had black hair and was smiling a genuine smile. "I'm going to train you on photography."
"Okay, thanks," I said with a smile.
She led me away from the rest of the band and into a room with a few other people. Two cameras were set on a table. She picked up one and motioned for me to pick up the second.
"So that's your first camera. It's for performances and Meet and Greets. You will also be given a smaller camera to carry to everyday things," she explained. "What background do you have with photography?"
"Um, I took pictures at school concerts and for yearbook," I explained.
"Okay, so you know how to operate a camera. I'm going to teach you some more advanced things."She showed me how to focus on a particular object or person. She also taught me about angles and how they play to a persons advantage or disadvantage. She looked down at her watch.
"Okay, we're done for today. I'll take this camera." I handed her my camera and she handed me a smaller one in return. "And this is for everyday. I'll lead you to the others."
She led me through the arena and to the auditorium. The group was drinking water and sitting at the edge of the stage. They looked exhausted.
"Hey, Tori," Mitch said as I got to the stage.
"Hey, Mom," I replied.
He gave me an exasperated smile and I quickly took a picture of him.
"So, I'm guessing training went well?" Scott asked with a laugh.
"Yes! She showed me how to work the professional camera and gave me this to take everyday pictures."
Kirstie jumped down. "Ready to go out to dinner?"
"Yeah," I replied."Well, we'll all need to get a quick shower and change," Kevin added.
Kirstie rolled her eyes. "Kevin got to pick and he chose a fancy restaurant."
"Ooh! I want to take photos once everyone's dressed up!" I exclaimed.
Kirstie smiled and led us out to the limo. We all got in and it drove us to our hotel. Esther checked us in and handed us all a room key. Mitch and Scott were in one room, Avi and Kevin in another, and Esther and Kirstie in another."I booked you your own room," Esther explained. "It's adjoined to ours, but we thought you might want some privacy. I smiled at her thoughtfulness.
"Thank you." She smiled in return.
We all walked up to the fourth floor and checked into our rooms. We would be here for three nights. After that, we were on the road again. I found my suitcase by bed and pulled out my shampoo and clothes I would need to change into.
I got a quick shower and got dressed into a short red dress that I'd packed. I dried my hair and then straightened it and put on makeup. I heard a knock on my door and quickly grabbed my bag and camera and put on a pair of black flats. I emerged from my room and saw that only Esther and Kirstie were done.
"We thought you could test out your camera while we waited for everyone else," Esther said. She was wearing a blue dress that had lace sleeves and a sweetheart neckline.
"Yeah, that'll be great," I said as we exited the hotel. I looked around for a good place until I spotted a pavilion. "There," I directed.
I directed Kirstie to sit on the banister of the pavilion. She was wearing a long black dress with triangles of fabric cut out of the side. Esther sat down below her on the bench. I got quite a few good pictures of that and different poses before the boys finally came out. They were wearing suits of various colors.
"Finally," Kirstie said.
I directed the photo shoot. Kirstie sat on the banister and laid her legs on the banister, as well. Avi rested his elbow on a beam that was supporting the roof and wrapped his arm behind his head. Mitch stood in front of Kirstie's legs and rested his arms on the banister. Scott sat in front of Mitch and Kevin sat beside him. I snapped about 10 photos before motioning for Esther to get in. She stood by Avi and wrapped her arm around his waist. I got about 4 more pictures.
"Hey, Amanda," Scott called. The girl who was helping me before came over to us.
"Yeah?" she asked.
"Will you take a picture and let Victoire get in?" She nodded and she had me sit in between Kevin and Scott. She also had me rest my head on my elbow and curve my knees in. She handed me back my camera and I looked at the end results. We got a serious one and everyone looked amazing. I showed it to the group and they all loved it. We also got one where we were joking around, one where we were smiling, and one where no one looked at the camera.
"They look so good!" Kevin said.
"Thank you," I said.
"Let's go eat," Avi said after we'd seen all the photos. We all got into the limo once more and headed to a restaurant.
Kevin was right, it was fancy. Every woman was in a dress and every man in a suit. We got a table for 7 and sat down. The meal was in courses. First, salad, then soup, then chicken, then chocolate mousse. We were seated at a circular table, so it was easy to talk to one another. The meal was delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Before long, it was time to head back to the hotel and go to bed.I walked into my room and changed into shorts, a t-shirt, a flannel and long socks. I unpacked my laptop and plugged it in beside my bed. I logged onto Tumblr and aimlessly scrolled for an hour before putting away. I pulled up my phone and saw Instagram notifications. I saw I was tagged in a photo and saw the picture of Avi and I frowning at each other on the plane. I also saw the video of Mitch, Avi, and Scott waking me up. Oh, I would get them back for that.
