Victoire's PoVIt was the last show and we all know what that means - pranks. Hushed words were already being said when people weren't looking. Sly looks were exchanged. It was fantastic! When we were getting off the bus, Kirstie pulled me aside.
"You know how you hurt your leg yesterday?" I nodded. "Pretend it's broken. Throw in a few tears." I nodded and smiled evilly.Kirstie and I were at the back of the group. Once we got inside the building and reached a flight of stairs, I threw myself to the ground and yelped. I clutched my ankle and began fake-crying. Avi immediately ran over and looked at my ankle.
"I think it's swollen!" he gasped. Good thing he wasn't a doctor.
"Someone needs to carry her to the car!" Esther exclaimed. She was in on it, too. Kevin picked me up and I clung to him. I buried my head in his neck so I wouldn't give it away.
When we got outside, I pulled my face away a let go of Kevin. He gasped as I put weight on my "broken" foot. "That was fun!" I exclaimed. Everyone gasped and Kirstie, Esther, and I started laughing like crazy.
"That was fantastic!" Esther said through laughs.
"Don't scare Mommy like that!" Mitch gasped.
The next prank was pulled by Avi. When he thought no one was watching, he turned Kevin and Kirstie's mics off. It was almost time for soundcheck, so I went to grab my camera. I opened the bag and replacing my camera was a stack of napkins. "What?" I said before turning around to see the boys with Silly String. I tried to run, but by the end I was covered.
"Retaliation," Mitch said. After getting all the Silly String off, I still didn't have my camera.
"Hey, Esther, have you seen my camera?" I asked. She pointed to a table with my camera on it.
I knew this wasn't a one-part prank, so I checked the camera roll. On it were funny pictures of the entire band and some candid shots as well. I laughed and changed SD cards. Sound check was fantastic. The band starting singing Daft Punk, not realizing two mics were off. Kirstie noticed first, but she just tried singing louder. Kevin didn't realize his was off until the end of the song, when Avi started losing it. They turned their mics back on and the rest of sound check was uneventful.
Meet and Greet was uneventful as well. At the concert, Kevin brought out his cello only to find his chair covered in tinsel. He happily sat in the festive chair. At the middle of the concert, Esther was pushed on stage and given a mic. She sang a few lines before waving and exiting the stage. When Pentatonix usually walk through the aisles, Kirstie was the only one to make it back on stage. The rest of the band were in the back of the stadium singing. Esther somehow knew about the prank and attacked the boys with more Silly String.
The crowd loved the pranks. They all knew what they were getting in for and laughed at everything that happened. Near the end of the show, Darien and Esther came up to me.
"We're gonna pull one last prank. We're gonna run on stage and pie everyone after the last number," Esther explained.
"That's fantastic!" I exclaimed. We walked to the side of the stage and waited for the last song. We only had Let's Get It On and Light In The Hallway before the show was over.
Avi's PoV
We still had one more prank to pull. Esther, Darien, and the entire band was in on it. When Let's Get It On came on, I went over to Victoire and carried her over to the chair. Everyone cheered and Victoire was laughing so hard she was about to cry. The song began playing and we went through our regular routine. Victoire was laughing through all of it, slightly blushing. Mitch even sat on her lap. He kissed her forehead before getting up. When everything was over, she stood up.
"For those of you who don't know, this is our intern, Victoire," I said. The crowd cheered and Victoire waved.
"She's my actual daughter," Mitch said.
She waved and went back over to Esther. We were met with payback after the last song when crew members ran out and pied us. Victoire got me, in retaliation. I just hugged her and got pie all over her as well.
"Goodnight, everybody!" Scott yelled before we exited the stage.
"How are we going to get on a plane like this?" Kirstie laughed. Once more, we took showers and changed clothes.
The airport was hectic. Mama Mitch was holding Victoire's hand so she wouldn't get lost. Victoire rolled her eyes, but happily took Mitch's hand. "I'm going to miss you guys," Victoire said.
"There's still Europe!" Kirstie said, trying to cheer her up. Victoire nodded. Kirstie, Mitch, and Scott, got on one plane, while Darien, Esther, Victoire, and I got on another. Victoire fell asleep instantly, and I was asleep not long after. When we woke up, we were landing. It wasn't long before Vic saw her parents and sprinted to them. She ran into their arms and they talked for a few minutes before she came back over to us. She tackled me with a hug, and I hugged her back. "I love you guys," she said, her voice slightly muffled. We pulled away and I ruffled her hair.
"Hey, we'll see you in a week. Have fun with your family. Slay your recital." She hugged me and then hugged Darien and Esther as well before leaving with her parents.
