after we had gotten the wedding gown and matching shoes, we headed home, mother-in-law would not keep quiet about how alexander and I’s future would turn out, when we got home mother got the house cleaner to get the bags, not that I’m disabled or anything but she would not let me take anything. I stepped through the doors of the house, today I’m going to call mother and father, they haven’t called to check up on me for a while, and I hope their well. I walked towards the landline and dialled the house number first.

“Hello Francis residence” I heard mothers voice

“h-hi mom” I said teary

“Felicia, my baby it’s been so long, I’ve missed you, how sot going there at the stills house hold”

“Mom, why didn’t you guys tell me you were leaving on the night of the engagement, and why haven’t you called since?”

“Felicia dear, listen to me, we love you so much that the house feels empty without you here, but dear promise me you won’t question your in-laws, because the only reason is  Mr. Stills had requested us to stay away from you because as from now you are their responsibility, it was part of the contract of paying the debt, we are so sorry” I was shocked, my parents actually signed a contract that makes me stills property, but no I don’t blame them, dad needed to pay off the debt so it’s okay right?

“Felicia honey are you there?” mom brought me back to reality

“Y-yes mother I’m here, is that all or are you hiding something from me?” I questioned curiously

“oh my, would you look at the time I’ve got a lot of things to do, so we can talk some other time ok dear, bye love you sweetie” she spoke fast, so she is hiding something

“Wait mom will you be at the wedding?”

“Of course dear we wouldn’t miss it for the world well be there” she said sadly, what is she hiding?

“Ok bye, love you mom”

“love you too sweetie” she replied before hanging up, god I missed hearing moms voice, it’s been what 1 week 2 weeks, I put the phone down before walking in the kitchen to get dinner ready, alexander hasn’t come home yet, and I’m beginning to worry, why must I worry so much. I hope this does not become a habit of his, after all we are getting married in 2 days, why am I shouldering his behaviour. An hour later I had been finished with dinner, and it was almost dinner time, alexander is really stressing me out! What if something bad happened to him? Why are there negative thoughts in my head?

“Felicia dear, stop worrying he’ll come back just relax” mother-in-law tried calling me down, ok deep breaths Felicia stop worrying about that idiot alexander

“Felicia dear its 20 minutes to dinnertime I need you to put the food down on the dining table, because James will be here soon” who the hell is James? I’ve never heard of that name.

“Mother who’s James?” I asked curiously, mother laughed at my suspense, what’s funny?

”dear James is alexander’s father, Mr. Stills I’m surprised you don’t know his name”

“Oh, he didn’t mention it” I spoke truthfully

“It’s okay, now hurry up and serve dinner it’s almost time, and Felicia honey don’t worry yourself too much” I simply nodded at her request but how could I not.

After mother and father had dinner and I couldn’t eat because of all the worry, I had finished clearing up mother-in-law told me to go up to bed and sleep, but I kept turning unable to close my eyes, the worry was eating me alive, mother was still downstairs, so I couldn’t go wait for him to come back. A few minutes later I heard the front door shut I jumped out of bed and walked toward the steps.

“Alexander stills, where in god name you have been is?” mother shouted quite angrily

“I was out” he said bluntly. Wow.

“For goodness sakes I know you were out, but out this late is absolutely insane. Do you know how worried Felicia has been about you? She hasn’t even eaten because she was so damn worried, the poor girl waited up for you and I had to force her to go and sleep. What is wrong with you?”

“Mother no one had asked her to worry, a girl like her has nothing to worry about” he harshly spoke

“Oh shut up, just shut up, who are you to tell her when to worry huh alexander, what wrong did she ever do to you, tell me what? Why do hate her so much?” mother began yelling at him

“because she reminds me of Natalia mother, she reminds me of her so much, when I try to forget it doesn’t happen, because everything Felicia does reminds me of her, and I’m afraid to get hurt again!” he yelled angrily

Mother-in-law walked up to alexander and touched his face “honey, not everyone is like her, and especially not Felicia. Natalia broke you and scattered the pieces around, Felicia is just picking up those pieces and trying to fix you, give her a chance, she won’t hurt you” mother-in-law began pleading with her one and only child

“Mother Natalia took away everything, my heart and she took him away” wait hold up him? who is this man they speak of, was it someone important to alexander “and mother I-you know I can’t let that happen again, loosing someone especially your best shot at happiness hurts” he had a pained expression on his face, he turned away from his mother and walked towards the steps, I ran toward the top of the stairs where alexander was coming up

“Alexander” I said breathlessly, right now my heart was slowing down because I could finally be calm, he looked at me before walking away disappearing into the bedroom, I hit my head on the wall lightly “alexander you idiot” I muttered
