Detention was fun. Everyone played paper football, and with a little help from my puppy dog eyes, Ian and I managed to convince Sean of putting on the radio.

We head banged to metal station, while Sean was doing air guitar in the backround.

So immature...

The music was suddenly cut, and we all turned to the source.

"What the hell is going on here?" The voice I know as my mother.

"Mommy! What are you doing here?" I smiled at her, and got off the table Ian and I were standing on.

"I thought you might've needed a ride...But I didn't think Ian would be here..." She looked over at everyone.

"Hello, Jane. How are you today?" Sean asked, walking up to her.

"Kiss up." I coughed.

Ian laughed behind me, and Sean sent me a quick glare.

"Is detention over?" Max's voice asked from the library doors.

"You're free to go." Sean nodded, and Max quickly shuffled over to me. "Can't wait for our date." He whispered, then looked over at Ian. Max sent him a smug grin, then leaned in so his lips were against my cheek.

I stood there frozen, while Max's lips lingered there for a second.

"Run." Ian growled at him.

I snapped out of my frozen state, and glared at Max.

"Elle! You have two guys after you?!" Mom squealed.

"Mother...Please stop." I pinched the bridge of my nose, and shook my head.

"Only one, really. Me. Ellody and I have a date Friday." Max smiled at my mother, and put an arm around my shoulder.

Ian tensed next to me, and grabbed my hand.

"Awh! I didn't catch your name."

"Max."

"See, Eli and I almost named Nate that, but he didn't look like a Max."

I shrugged off Max's arm, and took a steped closer towards Ian. Only because if Max tries anything, Ian will beat the shit out of him.

I looked over at Sean, and he was looking at us with a smile on his face.

"I hope you're enjoying this." I tell him.

He looks over at me, and nods. "Oh, I am."

"Eli?" Max asked.

"My husband, or Ellody's father." Mom's eyes lit up at the mention of dad. It's so nice to know that they're still in love after all these years.

"I'd love to meet him sometime."

Oh no. No, no, no! Mom don't fall for it!

"How about you come to dinner tonight?"

And she fell for it.

"If Max is going, Ian has to!" I yell.

Mom and Max look at me weird, and Ian kisses the side of my head, and wraps an arm around my waist, and pulls me closer.

"Perfect! Now, I have to go to the store, and call Eli...Honey," She turned to me, "you have a ride home, right?"

"All good, mom."

"Great! See you at home!" With that, mom left the building.

"Detentions over. Get out." Sean said, walking past us.
