"Nate!" I yelled.
My brother looked up from his locker, and saw me. "What?" He asked when I walked up to him.
"Where's the library?"
He dropped the book he was holding, and stared at me in shock.
"Seriously, Elle?!"
"I have never seen or heard of a library being in this school." I crossed my arms.
"Elle, you walk past it everyday."
"Really? Huh...Strange."
"C'mon, love. We'll be late for detention." Ian's voice yelled from down the hall.
"Where's that?" I ask.
I was hoping for Ian to be there, and yet not to be there. To be there, only because I don't want to be in a room with Max. And not to be there because I don't want him there. Mean? Possibly.
"Mr. Luther told me to go to the library. Apparently he's taking over detention for two weeks?"
I glared at the wall. "Sometimes I hate that guy." I muttered.
"Ian do you know where the library is?" Nate asked.
"Yeah."
"Great. You can show Ellody. I need to go to work." Nate picked his book up off the floor, and closer his locker. "See you later, Elle." Nate gave me a quick hug, and then he was off.
My good brother, Nathan, works at Barnes and Noble. He loves to read, so why not work at a book store?
I felt someone grab my hand, then twine our fingers. I looked up to see Ian smiling at me.
"What are you smiling about?" I grumbled.
"You look cute when you're frustrated." He chuckled, then started to pull me in the direction of the library, that I didn't know we had.
"I'm glad you two could make it." Sean said as Ian and I entered the huge room with shelves and shelves of books, with row after row of computers.
Max was sitting at an empty table near Sean and was looking at me with brown eyes filled with lust.
"Hm. So this is where Nate spends his life..." I mumbled looking around.
"Ellody, just take a seat." Sean chuckled.
Ian led me to an empty table.
"Okay, I'm sure one of you know the rules of detention," Sean looked my way, and I waved at him. "but to save everyone from boredum, keep all conversations to a whisper."
"Hey, Sean. What happend to Carol?" I ask, resting my feet up on the table.
"Depends. Let me see your arm." Sean walked over to me, and I showed him the arm where Bitch Principal had a vice grip on me.
"She's so fired." He gasped, looking at the bruise beginning to form.
"That was all from when she grabbed your arm?!" Ian whispered.
I nodded my head at him, and he grabbed my hand then rubbed soothing circles on the back of it with his thumb.
"I'll be right back. I need to make some calls. Behave, please." Sean narrowed his eyes at me, and I held my hands up in surrender.
"So you guys aren't dating?" Max asked for the fith time today.
"No." I sighed.
"You seriously don't act like it."
