"Hey, Nate." Ethan says, and he towes me to the couch. He sits down first, then pulls me into his lap.
I see Nate nudge Ian.
"I can sit on the floor, and Elle can sit here, you know." Ian says.
I move to get off Ethan's lap, but his hands hold my hips down. "We're fine like this."
Ian's hands clech into a fist. "I think Ellody should move to my spot."
"I think we're fine." Ethan wraps his arms around my waist, and pulled me back, so my whole backside is against his chest.
Nate looks uncomfortable between us, but luckily Rose saves the day. She stumbles into the room, and starts to run to me.
I smile, and move off Ethan's lap to pick up Rose.
"Hi baby." I coo. Rose smiles at me while I balance her on my hip. I start to bounce slightly.
"You're really good with kids, Elle." Ian comments.
"She just doesn't want to drop my little sister." Ethan comes up and kisses my cheek.
I feel nothing. No tingle sensation that leaves me asking questions like Ian's. Nothing that leaves my stomach in a bomb of butterflies.
"No need for PDA in front of the baby." Ian growls.
"She doesn't know what we're doing." Ethan leans in close to kiss me, but it never comes. Instead, I see Ian towering over Ethan.
"Don't touch her again." He whispers.
Rose cries out, and start to struggle again. I set her down, and she walks over to Ethan, who's lying on the floor. Rose get's up close to his face, and quickly slaps him. She then walks back over to me.
"For a baby, she can slap." Ethan says, sitting up.
I laugh as I pick up his little sister. "Good job, Rose!" She smiles at me, and wraps her arms around my neck.
"You are going to be a terrific mother, love. I swear to it." Ian says, looking at Rose and I lovingly.
"Some kids annoy me. But Rose is cool." I kiss her cheek, and I head off into the kitchen, where all the adults were sitting around the table. Katy was still there. Blake was still helping her with her homework. Such a good dad.
"Is Rosie tired?" Cara asks.
"I don't think so. She just slapped Ethan." I chuckle.
"Then she's wide awake." Ryan says with a smile.
"I need ice for my cheek." Ethan stomps into the kitchen.
"Drama queen." Cara sings.
"I'm a guy, mom." Ethan sighs.
"I know." She giggles.
"So, how did it feel to get slapped by a three year old?" Blake asks.
"Feels like getting slapped by a thirty year old. This little girl can pack a slap." Ethan kisses his sisters hair and pats her back before ushering us back to the living room.
Nate and Ian are on the couch playing that stupid racing game they were playing yesterday.
"Do you guys play anything else?" I groan.
Rose starts to pet my hair, and I hear her hum softly. I set her on my lap, while Ethan comes and sits next to me, and draps an arm around his sister and I. Ian notices and his eyes stay locked on Ethan.
"Dude!" Nate yells. "You're going off the track!"
Ian stands up, and throws the controller to the floor.
