(Ashley)
I woke up before the alarm even rang.
Again!Of course I did, it's not even on.
I wake before the alarm so much I decided to not put it on. And how do I figure out the time.
No, I don't have a cellphone or a watch.
I could look at the sun and know what time it is. Same thing with the moon. Especially, the moon.
I get up and get ready to go to school. My Gosh! Who in their right minded would invent school?
I do what I do in the morning. I put on a white t shirt and blue skinny jeans, with my white Vans. I spray that thingi so they won't get dirty easy. It's not that I have a problem with getting dirty, its just that Ms. Ramos, my I-wish-she-was-my-mother, would kill me if she saw me dirty.
I am finish dressing myself. I quietly tiptoe to the door and out I go. I don't want the cave people to see I am wake. I look at the hall that leads to other apartments in the building. I walk past three doors until I get to Alex's house. I open the door and let myself in. I walk into the kitchen and see Alex's back facing me. I stand right behind him. When he turns around he jumps up the counter.
"Why the hell do you sneak up behind me like that? Ninjas are probably jealous of you," exclaimed Alex as he got off the counter.
"I did not sneak up on you," I exclaimed back.
"Of course you didn't."
"So where's your mom at?"
"In a job interview," he replies.
"Cool."
"I know."
He went to the fridge and prepared us breakfast. He made us waffles. Yes, he does cook because his mom taught him how. When we finished I brushed my teeth with the tooth brush that I have here. I practically live here. After that we left for school. The whole way I was bugging Alex with the question I always ask him when we go to school: who the hell invented school?
"For the last time, Ashely, I don't know," he yelled at me for the millionth time.
"If you don't why don't you look it up?" I asked.
"I don't know Ashely, why don't you look it up?"
"I don't have access to Internet."
Once we got to school we headed out separate ways. Ahead I saw Grover waiting for me by my locker. Grover is one of my friends. He is crippled and looks overage to be in high school. But he is cool.
"What up, man," I greeted him.
"Hello, Ashely."
"You look excited, nervous, you know the usual," I pointed out.
"It's because my friends out coming over to visit," he said.
"You mean your friends from across the country?"
"Yeah, those."
"Cooleo."
The bell rang singling time for class. Grover started heading toward our first class together. I groaned,"Who the hell invented school!"
"Silence and get to class, Ashely." Said a teacher nearby.
That's when I started running for class.
★. ⏰ ★. ⏰ ★.
School finally finished. Me, Grover, and Alex headed out. I look at Grover to see him panicked he looked completely worried. He nervously looked all around.
"You okay man?" asked Alex.
"Yeah, I am okay."
Yeahhh, no your not
"Wanna come with me and Alex," I asked him.
"Sure."
We walked home with Grover looking behind every few minutes. At one point he stop completely, but then kept walking. When we got to the alley next to our apartment building, Grover did a 150 turn. We turned as well and saw three kids walking towards. They looked dangerous and powerful. It felt familiar. I looked at Alex and something crossed our mind.
Have you ever heard your parents tell you stranger danger. If so then you might know what we did next.
We ran!
