Zach and I continued walking into nightfall.

“Let’s just keep going,” he says, “We’ll reach Pokémon Square soon enough.”

“I hope so,” I tell him, looking around at the dark forest, “this place is creepin’ me out.”

We keep walking, and soon enough, I swear I can hear instruments playing.

“Do you hear that?” I ask my friend.

Zach beams. “I forgot! It’s the night of the Solstice Harvest Festival! It’s always so much fun! I hope we haven’t missed too much!”

We’ve come out of the forest and onto a well-worn dirt path, frequently dotted with flat stones that have been worn into the ground. Up ahead there’s a large empty plot of land, a small field of lush grass and towering weeds that’s borderlined with trees. The way we’re coming up the path and facing the small field, there’s a path that leads off to the left, also worn dirt. It leads off into trees much like the ones we just came out of.

“Where does that go?” I ask.

“That leads to the Mystery Lands. I’m not really sure what’s there though.”

                “Oh.”

There’s also a path leading off to the right, the worn dirt stretching out into a field of soft-colored grass and small pink flowers swaying their lullaby with the wind.

The sound of instruments is coming from that way.

“That’s the way to Pokémon Square.” Zach says.

                “Then let’s go!”

We head down the path leading to the right, and after walking a bit, we come across a small stream with crystal-clear water. A small, hand-made bridge made of wood scales the stream. On both sides of the stream, on either side of the bridge, there are two glass lamps hanging from rather tall wooden poles. The fire in them burns brightly and casts a welcome light throughout the already dark landscape. If I squint, I can see buildings up ahead.

“We’re getting close.” Zach says, and I can hear the excitement in his voice.
