When the officers released me, it was already 11 pm, 8 hours had passed.

Noah had his chance to say goodbye before they got ready to fly him back to the US.

I retrieved my phone from one of the cops. I went outside and sat on the curb to call Rap.

"Linnie?!" Rap Monster said through the phone. "Are you at the station? I'll come pick you up."

"Yeah, I am," I said.

My heart was throbbing from within my chest. It was gonna explode.

"But I don't need a ride.." I continued. "My mom's coming to pick me up."

I lied. I didn't want to see anybody.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Totally fine," I said, getting ready to hang up the phone. "I'll tell you about it later. I just wanted to tell you that I'm okay."

I loved a criminal. How could I ever be okay with that?

I sighed and stood up. I walked down the dark road.

I recognized this street. It was the same street the gym and school was on.

Right then, I walked pass the alley. The alley. The one where Jay saved me.

Where gangsters and trash once were, it was now a lookout place for cops.

I never knew the police station was so close to here.

So much had happened since I came here. It was hard to swallow it. Someone, who used to strongly despise your existence, could change their mind and decide they love you. Someone, who you thought was a persistent fuckboy, could change to be one of the people you most desire to be with. Someone, who was your first love, could end up as another of Inglewood's minions.

Walking home from The Alley was only a distance of 20 minutes. Time seemed like it traveled faster at night.

I sluggishly got my clothes and took a shower.

No noise was coming from Auntie's room, but I heard laughter coming from Jay's. He was probably watching a movie or something.

I went into my room and plopped myself onto my bed. Seconds later, I was sound asleep.

--

I woke up to my alarm, only it wasn't an alarm but a phone call from Suga.

"Get over here, and make it quick," he said rather calmly.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Linnie, just hurry, please. I'll text you the address," he said and hung up.

What could possibly be so important?

I didn't even have a car.

I washed up then knocked on Jay's door.

"Jay?" I said. "Can you take me somewhere? I'm kinda in a hurry."

"Who is that?" A girl's voice said.

A rush of excitement came over me.

Jay? With a girl??

I heard him say something but couldn't make it out.

"Uh, never mind!" I quickly said. "I got a ride--never mind!"

Jay opened the door a creek but quickly shut it behind him.

He wasn't wearing a shirt, which meant something. But then again, he never wore a shirt in the morning.

"(English) Where do you want me to take you?" He asked, a little hazily.
