.:Nikki's POV:.

Seconds ticked by. Pinkly's collar jingled as she scratched an itch behind her ear in the kitchen. The clock on the wall across from me slowly ticked by, showing me that it was only 7:27pm. Brian would be home shortly.

Just the thought had my hands sweating and my heart racing. I rubbed my palms on my jeans, ridding my nervous sweaty hands. I was not prepared to inform Brian that he was going to be a father of twins.

How do you tell your boyfriend that instead of having one baby, you were really having two?

Easy, you don't.

Just knowing Brian was going to flip once I tell him. Already I knew I wasn't telling him right away. I made his favorite dinner tonight which was spicy chicken and vegetables. After dinner is when I agreed with myself that I would tell him.

I glanced at the clock again. It read, 7:30. Soon I heard a car door slam shut then Pinkly barking as she ran to the door, her little white tail wagging happily as she knew Daddy was home from work. I took a few deep breaths as the front door opened and slammed shut.

"Hi, baby girl. Yes, yes, I know." I heard Brian coo at Pinkly from the front hall. "Babe?" He yelled out, walking into the living room.

I smiled, getting up from the sofa. "Hi, baby." I greeted him with a soft peck.

He smiled. "That's all I get? Not happening. Come here."

Brian chuckled as he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into him as he crashed his lips against mine. My arms wrapped around his neck, trying to get as close to him as I possibly could. The enormous baby bump getting in the way a little.

Few minutes later, Brian pulled away with a smirk on his thin lips. HIs brown eyes bright with excitement as he stared down upon me. I smiled up at him when I felt his large, calloused hands rub my baby bump.

"How is our little one?" He asked, kneeling down to kiss my stomach.

I smiled, running my fingers through his hair. "She's doing just fine. Doctor said she's healthy."

"That's right, you had the appointment today." He mumbled against my stomach, rubbing it. "That's good that our little one is healthy." He smiled at my stomach. "Daddy can't wait to meet you. He loves you so much." He kissed my stomach before straightening out and kissing me once more. "And I love you."

I smiled against his lips. "I love you too."

Brian smiled at me before sitting on the sofa, kicking his boots off with a groan. "Man, thank God you weren't at the studio today."

"Awe, was it a bad day, honey?" I asked, sitting behind him as I massaged his tense shoulders.

He hummed, relaxing under my hands. "Yeah..." He breathed out, eyes closed. "First I broke all the strings to my guitars. And before you say it, yes again." I giggled softly, kissing behind his ear. "Then God damn short shit decided to lean against the controls and delete all the fuckin' work we had done recently. We were almost finished until he leaned on it!"

I massaged Brian's shoulders more. "Baby, I'm sure it was an accident. He didn't mean to delete everything. It happens." I kissed the back of his neck, earning a rumble in his chest. "You're home now and I made your favorite dinner tonight. And if you're lucky, I'll give you a full back massage tonight."

Brian reached around behind him and pulled me onto his lap, kissing along my jaw. "Do I get a happy ending too?"

I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck as I shrugged. "Maybe. If you're a good boy tonight."

"Who said anything about me being good?" Brian wiggled his eyebrows.

I laughed, getting off his lap. "Then no happy ending for you, it seems."

I walked into the kitchen to make his plate when I heard his feet follow closely behind me, his large arms hugging from behind. His chin resting on my shoulder.

"You know I love you, right baby?" He asked, nuzzling his face in the crook of my neck.

I smiled. "Yes, I do. Is there something I should know Mister Gates?" I asked.

He shook his head, face still in my neck. "No. I just thought I should tell you."

Blushing lightly, I turned in his arms and pressed my lips to his. "I love you too, honey." I handed him his plate.

He grinned. "Spicy chicken? You're the best." He kissed my cheek.

I shrugged. "I know."

Brian and I sat on the sofa, cuddled up around one another as we watched a random movie that was on the television. While Brian ate his second plate, Pinkly was resting in my lap as I had my head resting on Brian's shoulder. His head leaning against mine. I smiled as I loved this feeling. Our little family.

"I'm stuffed." Brian leaned forward a bit to place his plate on the coffee table in front of us. "That was amazing, Nikki. Thank you." He kissed me gently.

I smiled. "You're welcome, Bri."

A comfortable silence casted upon us as we cuddled on the sofa. My fingers absently playing his fingers, I stared up at his perfect face. Noticing a little stubble appearing along his jaw, he needed to shave. His chocolate eyes intent on the movie that was playing.

Brian glanced down at me before looking back at the movie, then looked back down at me again to see that I was still staring at him. He laughed.

"What?" He chuckled. "Is there something on my face?" He wiped at his mouth.

Smiling, I shook my head. "No. It's just-" I sighed. "Brian?"

"Yeah?"

I looked away from his eyes, down to our locked hands as I traced the "Marl" tattoo on his knuckles. "Today at the doctor... We discovered some shocking news..."

Brian grabbed my chin gently so I was looking up at him, a frown on his face. "Is the baby okay?"

I nodded. "I told you the baby is perfectly healthy."

"Then what's going on?" He asked, confused.

"Brian?" I took a deep breath. "This may come as a shocker to you, but..." He squeezed my hand, silently asking me to go on. "We're not having a baby. We're having babies, as in twins."

There I did it!

Silence filled the room for what was a few minutes turned into almost a half hour. I looked up at Brian to see he had this dazed look in his eyes. I frowned.

"Brian? Baby, say something? Please?" I begged.

"Twins." He breathed out so low I barely heard him.
