.:Nikki's POV:.

"Fuck! Why are there so many of these?" Brian groaned, holding up two boxes of pregnancy tests. "What's wrong with just making one type and only selling that?"

I rolled my eyes as I grabbed a couple boxes of different pregnancy tests, not really knowing the difference between them.

Brian and I weren't really on speaking terms. The only reason he brought me here was to find out if I was pregnant or not. After this, he won't talk to me.

I sighed as I placed the items on the counter. The guy raised an eyebrow but shrugged.

"Expecting?" He asked, making small talk.

I shrugged, sighing. "Yeah. I think."

"Surprise baby?" He gave me a look.

I nodded. "Big surprise."

He chuckled. "Well, I hope you're not pregnant."

I raised an eyebrow. "Why do you say that?"

He smirked. "Well, that way I can take you out friday night."

"Nice try, buddy." Brian growled, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. "Back off, she's mine. If I were you, I'd take your eyes off my girl before you have no eyes." He threatened.

The cashier's eyes widened but nodded, looking down as he priced the tests.

I rolled my eyes at Brian, yet again. He could get too possessive sometimes.

Brian paid for the tests and pulled me closely against him as we walked out of the store to his car. He unlocked the door for me and held it open, closing it once I got in and ran to his side. Revving the engine before speeding out.

"Can you drive slower?" I gripped my seat tightly. "There's precious cargo in here." I nodded towards my stomach.

He glared at the road, his hands tightening over the steering wheel. "Why should I care? It's not mine. It's some random guy's from Vegas." He spat.

I frowned, looking at my hands.

He was really hurt by me saying that I could tell everyone this was someone else's baby.

"I'm sorry." I apologized softly.

Brian sighed heavily as he reached over, placing his hand on my stomach. His large hand rubbed my stomach in a small circle, the car slowing down to the speed limit.

"Thank you." I said, pulling my nails out of the seat.

Brian nodded, his hand continuing to rub my stomach.

I sighed as I let my head rest against the cool window, watching as the scenery flew by us.

It wasn't until Brian pulled into his driveway that I finally looked over at him, raising an eyebrow. His eyes met mine.

"What?" He asked, turning the car off.

"What are we doing here?" I asked him.

He sighed as he rested his head against his seat. "We're going to fuck." He said with heavy sarcasm. "What do you think, Nicole?" He asked, irritated. "We can't go to fucking Shads and Diana's house, they'll see the tests."

I frowned. "Oh..."

He sighed. "Sorry. Now let's get this over with."

He got out of the car the same time I did, slamming his door shut. I followed silently beside him, leaving some distance between us as I hugged the tests to my chest. Feeling as if everyone in the neighborhood was watching me, judging me.

Oh, look. She slept with Haner and she didn't think twice sleeping with him. Now she's stuck having his child like probably all the other thousands of women he's slept with. I thought they would be whispering to their friends, jabbing their fingers at me.

But as I glanced around while Brian fumbled with his keys to let us in, I saw that no one was outside. Besides us, they only thing out here was the squirrel that chilled on Brian's grass. Staring at us with the acorn in his mouth, watching our every move.

Pinkly's barking made the squirrel haul ass up the tree, dropping his acorn on the way. Pinkly jumping on my legs caught my attention as I kneeled down to pet the dog's head, smiling as she seemed so happy to see me. It seemed as if she was the only one to be happy to see me.

Her owner for sure as hell isn't.

"Pinkly, girl. That's enough." Brian picked the maltese up into his arms.

Looking very manly. Sarcasm there.

I followed Brian into his house, closing the door behind me as I looked around his place.

I never been here before. I always pictured it would be a mess and not have matching furniture. But I had to hand it to him, his house was very nice and clean. And screamed his personality as well.

"The bathroom is down the hall, second door on your right." Brian informed me, sitting down on the black leather sofa.

"Be out in a few minutes." I mumbled, heading for the bathroom with all the pregnancy tests.

Half an hour later, I was sitting on the toilet with my head in my hands as I waited for the tests to be ready to decide the next chapter in my life.

I gave it another few minutes before I looked at each and every one of them.

My heart sank.

All the preparing and supporting thoughts I had up until this moment had been wiped clean. Poof. Gone.

I sat back on the toilet seat as my eyes filled with tears.

I couldn't believe it.

I... I just couldn't!

I left the bathroom and slowly made my way to the living room where I last saw Brian, problem was he was no longer sitting there.

I frowned as I looked around. Seeing smoke slowly drifting by the window and the sliding glass door slightly open. I walked over to the door and let myself out, seeing Brian staring off at the beach that was behind his house. A cigarette between his lips as he inhaled another lungful.

"Brian?" I said his name softly, looking up at him.

He turned to face me, dropping his cigarette on the ground and stomping on it.

"So, what's the deal?" He asked, placing his hands on my waist as he pulled me against him.

I placed his hands on my stomach. "I'm pregnant."

He nodded slowly, rubbing my stomach. "Just great..."
