When opposites attract

Lola PoV

                   The cold water hits my skin, i pull my hands up to my face in my best effort to cover myself. We had gone from a little splashing to a full on water fight. Lily and Graham had maid it to swimming like we had planned and we invited mal as i felt we needed to become closer to her she seemed important to Matt and i hope we can make everything as less awkward as i needs to be right now.

'Guys stop i'm soaked,'

'well you are at a swimming pool,' I stare at Graham and his cheek.I have known Graham for  High school too, we had always been close friends even before him and Lily started going out.

'You know what i mean,' Lily smiles a little more and i can't help but remember when they decided to go out. They wouldn't stop talking about each other for a few weeks so i did a little bit of my magic and here they are going strong for 4 years.

I look back to Danny hoping that we will be like that but when i turn to look at him all i see is frowning, i follow his gaze to the side where Matt and Lucy was walking our way.

'I thought they was going on a date?' Danny voice was ruff and cold and i move right next to him mainly worried about them fighting again. I haven't told Matt that me and Danny are dating yet manly because i didn't know we was going out for the first week and then there's the other fact i don't want to have that conversation that i know he will give me.

' Yeah they was,' Everyone stops and stares as them Mals face lighting up a little bit, i try not to take offence for my sister but it was pretty obvious that Mal liked Matt.Graham  tenses under the new company of Matt walking our way. He knows about Matt from just general conversation but he have never really met or talked to him.

Mal walks over the side of the pool but the rest of  us stay in the middle messing around a little bit more.

Lily gives me a look to introduce Graham when they come over and i give of a little nod while rolling my eyes.

'Hey guys,' Matt says looking over all of us but stops when he gets to Danny's arm around my shoulder, both guys was staring at each other intensely.  lily let out a mutter of hi before looking at me to introduce him.

'Matt,' His eyes whip from Danny to me 'This is Graham Lily's Boyfriend,'

'Well...' Lily whispers so only i can hear and my mouth hangs open, does this mean what i think it does. 

'Hey,' Graham lets out Matt lets out a nod in association. We stand there in silence for a second.

'Hey lily lets go for a swim!' My voice sounded way to excited but i needed o know what she meant.

We swim to the other side of the  pool way out of their hearing before stopping to talk.

'It was nice of you to invite Mal,' i stare back to the group where Mal was clinging onto Matt she wouldn't stop touching or leaping into his arms.

'Something tells me she's going to be important to us,' I drag my gaze away from the group back to Lily.

'So there's something important we need to talk about,' I try my hardest to bite down the smile that was forming on my face.

'Yeah i'm ready.' My foot starts to twitch with excitement, she lets out a sigh at my childish behavior.

'Me and Graham are engaged,' I immediately  let out a little scream before grabbing her hand to see the ring that was nicely fitting onto her hand.  

'And i want you to be my maid of honor,' I can't help but let another scream out of my mouth.

'I would be really offended if you didn't.' I stare at this ring almost too gleeful for my friend.

'So how did he do it?'  Our smiles can't even fall from our faces this is what every girl dreams about, even i want to settle down one day with a guy we will be old and gray but he will still call me beautiful as we rock back and forth in our little brown rocking chairs staring out on our grandchildren, thinking all of what we have achieved.

'We will talk about it later lets get back to the group,' I let out a frustrated grown but agree with what shes saying.

We swim back to the group where Graham was looking at me smiling too. 'So did she....'

'Yup!' My head shaking viciously.

'I've already asked Danny if he wants to be my best man, we haven't got round to picking the rest,' I swim over to him wanting to be able to let out all my buzz. 

'Hey little miss excitable, you ook happy.'  I pull him into an embrace feeling his mussels  against my chest.

'I am very happy,' It one of those days where everything is amazing, where you feel like life will be so amazing. Nothing can tear you down.

' Very?' His smile did something to me that i think he can only do.

'Yeah very.'

'So they told you about the engagement?'  His eyebrows was raised at me and everything inside me was better.

'If not you just ruined it.'

'Yeah that would suck,'  I nod my head but can't help laughing at him for nothing at all.

'Just a bit, we are going to be a little couple the best man and the maid of honor.' 

He open his mouth to answer but closes, looking behind me. He drops his arms from me and i turn to look behind me where Lucy was heading my way.

'Hey can we talk?' Shes still my sister even if we are fighting right now.

'Yeah sure,' I turn around giving Danny a little peck on the lips before walking further into the water a little way from the others.

'What do you want?'

'I'm worried about Matts and Mals relationship, i mean shes all over him and he looks at her, like he looks at y.... what i mean is he really cares for her,' I see insecurity all over her face

'Lucy stop being stupid their just friend, he only likes her for a friend i mean he said he's known her for a while. If he didn't like you he wouldn't be with you right now would he.' 

'Lola we need to talk.'  Here comes the talk from Matt. Lucy swims away from us and we are left there standing awkwardly.

'So when did you and pretty boy start getting all close,'

'This is why i didn't tell you, you hate the guy.'  He opens his mouth o disagree but closes it again.

'You deserve so much better than him, Lola your beautiful and smart, funny, charming you have a weird way of drawing people close to you and making them fall for you....'

'...And i love him, he's everything i would want in a guy. I know your trying to be a good friend but he's done nothing wrong.'

'I still think you can do better,'  His face was as serious as i had ever seen it

'I don't,'   He lets out a frustrated sigh, he did look good today though with diamond drops of water was falling from his hair. 'Will you just try to get along with him for me? Pretty please?'

'For you?' I nod my head viciously 'ok.'
