Drink and dancing

Lola PoV
The clubs music was blasting into my ears, controlling everyone around me into dancing to the steady beats. I took a small sip of the non alcoholic drinks rotting on the illuminated blue bar.

I sit at the bar in the hot pink dress i had been given to wear, the material was comfortable considering it was a stapless skin tigh minnie dress saying lilys bitches on the back.

The flashing lights burned my eyes with the intensity of there gazes, tonight was going to be a long night.

I hadn't had a chance to talk to lily in person yet and every time I brought up the dress shopping incident on text she changed the subject or leaft my messages opened. Everything about this situation was wrong, lily was engaged and yet seeing another man. I don't know why I was still arranging satans wedding to grayham. He deserves so much better than this, maybe he always has and I've just been to caught up in the world of her tricks. Why didn't I tell him when I found out.

Why was i still friends with lily?
It wasn't like she was my best friend anymore maybe once upon a time but now she was like a different person.

Ugh this whole situation just annoyed me, I didn't want to give up on her she was like a sister to me, no she was a sister to me. Well once upon a time. I grew up with her but since she came back from traveling well I just don't know her anymore.

I get up, ready to storm over to her demanding an explanation for all of this but I get pulled  back into my seat. My head jerked forward a little bit, for a small girl she had a good grip.

'Hey Lola,' she sipped her coke in her hand obviously she wasn't drinking tonight either.

'Hey Mal,' I shout over the music that was pounding my ear drums, a little bit of jealousy rose into my chest. I am such a hypocrite of lily sure I'm not cheating on Danny but realistically I want to be.

She shove her hand onto my stomach, not giving me enough time to move it out of the way, I get this is something I will have to get used to. People wanting to touch my baby and the fathers.

'Matt told me that the baby was his and not Danny's,' I just look at her shaking my head not knowing what to say, I have always been careful with Mal as it was easy to sense her dislike of me from the beginning 'I'm really happy for both of you, I know he won't say it but he's really glad that he's the father.'

Guilt swarms my body, I shouldn't of told them both that it was there baby, it was stupid, very very stupid. It's not like they don't talk to each other. I mean we all live in the same apartment for fuck sake. It only takes one of them to mention that it's there for the whole cover to be blown.

'Well I guess that's a good thing, would be a little disappointing if he didn't want to be.' Mal lets out a dry laugh and coughs trying to catch her breath

'Look I'm sorry for how I've been treating you, it hasn't really been fair and girl you didn't deserve that especially whilst you are pregnant.'

This time it was my turn to laugh, she was sweet, and I know if it wasn't for my pregnancy we would of been great friends from the very beginning, I guess a little bit of it was my fault. I was treating her like she was one of Matts sluts and not his friend or girlfriend or whatever they are.

I saw the panic in her eyes as I didn't answer straight away. 'I guess I was jealous of you guys I mean your carrying his child which meant you guys have had sex  and I matts like me I mean I could tell that you guys always had that connection and I just wanted him to myself,'

I sit paralysed in my seat trying to figure out what she had just said, Matt and me a connection sure I mean I had dreamt about it but I loved Danny. And Matt doesn't feel that way about me unless by connection she means something completely different like a friendship way or maybe like raising child together way. 

'It's ok.' She gives me a look of almost disapproval in my answer ' seriously it's ok, not all of it's you fault I did and said some stuff too.'

She still didn't sound sure with my answer 'ok look would you like to start again. Hi my names Lola, I'm matts roommate and I'm carrying his child.' I thought of what I said and cringed 'OK no now I sound like a slut.'

She laughed whilst flicking her hair off her shoulder 'hi I'm Mal I'm matts oldest friend.'

'Well it's nice to meet you at last.'

'Hey Lola can I ask you some questions about pregnancy?'

'Yeah you can dunno how much I will actually be able to tell you tho, I can't be bothered to read the books that Danny's been reading about it all.'

'What happens if you water breaks?'  The astonishment must of shone of my face, everyone knows about that,

'Well that's when the baby's coming then,'

'No I mean like what if you water broke inside of you.'  I just sit there blinking a few time, not knowing what to say

'That's what happens in child birth the water breaks inside of you then the child comes.'  I an seriously wondering about her sex ed lesions right now

'Ok then what happens if your umbilical cord snaps?'

'It's won't snap' she looks so worried about this information

'How do you know it won't snap?'

'I don't know much about child birth and pregnancy but I'm pretty sure that it's made from skin.'  She lets out a little chuck like she was embarrassed from this information.
'Oh ok then,' she looks at her phone ' shit shit shit'

I quickly get up and hold onto her arm 'what, what's wrong?'

'I've got to get to work, shoot I'm nearly late,' she gives me a hug to say goodbye

'Ok bye,' she turns to walk away but I call her back ' hey Mal tomorrow why don't you come shopping with me?'

She smiled looking so happy that we was finally getting to know each other better ' yeah it sounds great,'

And I smile back knowing what she means, I like this new friendship.

I immediately start looking for Lily in the crowd again and find her and the rest of the girl within a few seconds, all crowding round the stripper that I had hired for the night.

I need to talk to her about this but maybe now isn't the right time, this is her party and I shouldn't ruin it, I'll talk to her tomorrow.
