Evangeline laid in the infirmary. Pain coursed in her veins but hope ran along side that pain.
Her Loki might still be alive. She thought about the body in the coffin.
Was that an illusion?
She remembered his colorless skin and his stiff position.
He had to have been the one in the box. However the vivid dream, and the lashes on her back told another story.
She heard the door push open. Thor walked in. He looked worse for wear, his eyes were surrounded in bags, but he still had a gentle smile on his face.
Her brother followed behind him, he had a furrow in his brow.
"Evangeline?"

He rushed over to her side.
"Are you okay? What happened-"

"Levi, I'm fine. It was the link between me and Loki. Something activated it causing me to feel his pain."

Levain frowned.
"I had thought he had died in battle-"

"I had to. I believe that Loki that was in that coffin wasn't him. I have come to a conclusion that he was captured and someone disguised themselves using magic to pretend to be him."

Thor rubbed his face as he sat beside her in the chair by her bedside.
"That would be my brothers luck."

Evangeline nodded in agreement.

Thor left the room, Levain following him.
"Do you think she will be alright?"

Thor looked at the younger man. "I would hope so." He watched as the brunette pulled a face.
He was an interesting creature. Levain was kind like his sister, but there was still a touch of childish behavior in his actions. Thor wondered how he survived the shades.
Levain undid his hair letting it fall messily around his face.

"She finds out whoever captured her Loki, they are dead men..." He muttered

"I believe you would be correct."

Levain stoped to stare at the blond man. He looked ragged. His eyes were dull and dark circles sat under his eyes. His lip was split and his hair was shaggy and ill kept.

"You are not fairing well. Are you?"

The question caught Thor off guard. No one had asked if he was okay in a very long time.

"I am fin-"

Levain arched his eyebrow and crossed his arm.
"Nice try. I'm not Evangeline. I see through your bullshit. Come with me."

"I don't think I-"

"Thor, come on." There was the authority in their voice that both of the siblings shared.
Levain led the taller man through the winding halls. He stoped at an oak door before retrieving a key from his pocket.
"You have no idea how many times I got lost in here. It's huge."

Thor breathed a laugh as the door was pushed open.

"Kick your shoes off and hang your coat, er cape." Thor did as he requested.

"Sit down, I'll be back." Levain padded over to what appeared to be his wardrobe before leaving into the restroom. He returned in fresh clothes.

"You did not sit." There was no chairs simply a large pile of blankets and pillows.

"Oh. Right." He sat down on the surprisingly comfortable pile.
Levain walked around before finding several things. Two glasses, a box and a bottle.
The gypsy plopped down in front of the god.
"This stuff will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. You-" he pointed with the bottle at Thor,"- need a little warm and fuzzy."

Two glasses were poured and Levain handed one to Thor.
He inspected the red liquid swirling it in the glass.
"What exactly is it?"

The gypsy took a drink, "A wine.... herbs maybe? Not sure." He tipped the rest of his glass back.

Thor took one last wary glass before taking a drink.
It was sweet. It was also warm as it went down... it was pleasant.

Levain was digging through the box he had brought.
"Whatever you did to your lip must have been pretty bad..." He pulled out a small jar unscrewing the lid and sniffing its contents. "Since it still hasn't healed, let me."

He leaned foreword and swiped the cream on Thor's lip. Levain dabbed it around on any other scratches that peppered his face.
Levain screwed the cap back on.

"I may have only known you for a short period of time Thor... but I consider you a friend. You looked after my sister when she needed it most, so I shall look after you when you need it most."

Thor smiled gently.
"That's very kind, Levain. But you are not required to do anything, I do not expect that from-"

"Thor, I want to." Levain refilled both of their glasses.
"How the fuck can you save my sister if can hardly heal yourself?"
Thor leaned back against the pillows.
"I suppose you are right."

"Of course I'm right. " He picked up a hairbrush.

"I do not think we are at the hair braiding level of friendship Levain."

Levain snorted.
"I don't want to be. I just wanted to save the life of whatever feral creature that's being held captive by your hair."

They both broke out into a fit of laughter.
