Not A Monster

At the hospital, Raven was rushed into a room. Beast Boy was sitting in the waiting room after the doctor needed him to leave. He phoned the other titans and told them about Terra and what happened. They came quickly. Starfire was the most upset
"Is she the alright? Is the baby the alright?"
"The doctor hasn't been out to say either way." Beast Boy quietly said. He was worried about Raven and their unborn baby. The doctor came out and invited him back. Quietly Dr. Sanders said to Beast Boy as she and him walked towards Raven's room.
"Raven has suffered a lot of stress to her womb and with a heavy heart she had a miscarriage. The fetus was approximately 12 weeks along. Sadly it didn't make it due to the impact of the struggle she faced. Normally the baby would've been safe even in a fight, but I'm afraid Raven was weaken."
"I should have protected her better." Beast Boy felt guilty.
"No my dear, you did protect her. But she was weaken by the fight and the pregnancy. She is lucky to have such a caring husband. But I will warn you, she will be depressed. She will have spells. But stay with her. She will have emptiness of losing the baby and her hormones going back to normal. She has had a DNC done and we are waiting to make sure everything is clear before we release her. Garfield-"
Placing a hand on his shoulder, Beast Boy felt depressed himself, "Take care of her and you. She is all you have right now. I would suggest you 2 take a few days to be alone. If you need anything my number here at the hospital will be on her discarded papers. "
They arrived at her room. Raven was sitting up, staring blankly at the TV screen. It was 4 in the morning. Beast Boy walked in after softly rasping on the door. She looked up and smiled softly.
"Rae...I"
"Just hold me." she whispered.
Hugging her, she buried her face into his shoulder and sobbed, he laid down in her hospital bed.
"Rae I should've protected you better. I hate that bitch. I am so sorry. How can you love a monster?"
"Garfield you are far from a monster. You saved my life. You are my hero. I know with time we will heal. I know in time we will have a family. I promise you." she sniffled.
