"Are you sure it's cool for me to be here?" Jacqueline asked.

It was the day after her birthday. And early in the morning while heading to the pond she find the blonde agent in training sitting on a log waiting for her. Lena insisted that since she wasn't able to be there on her special day that she would take the day off to spend with her. And decided that she should come with her to her family home in New York. Lena turned to her with a smile as she fishes her keys out of her bag.

"Yes! Don't worry." Lena reassures her.

Keys in hand she puts it in the lock and opens the door. Once Jacqueline was inside she closed it, letting her bag drop to the floor.

"Grandpa I'm home!" Lena calls out into the house.

Her grandpa's here?

Jacqueline checks her appearance in a nearby mirror, fixing the hood around her shoulders and her pony tail. She hands quickly go back to her sides at the sound of approaching footsteps.

"Lena! Welcome back!"

A old man with short slicked back black and white hair came around the corner from the living room. He wore a knitted tan sweater with a white button up underneath, kaki pants and brown leather shoes, sunglass covered his eyes. He shoots them both a bright smile.

"And I see you've brought a friend." He says with a small chuckle.

"Grandpa this is--" he cuts her off.

"Oh I know who she is. You're Shadow! You don't mind if I call you that?"

Did Lena tell him about me?

Jacqueline looks from Lena and back to her grandfather and shakes her head.

"Um no, sir. I don't."

"Well Shadow, call me Stan." Stan says, holding out his hand which she takes and shakes lightly.

"So, this is the man who gives his granddaughter words of wisdom. It's nice to finally meet you Stan. Cool shades." Jacqueline said.

Something about him screamed familiarity, but she couldn't pinpoint what in her mind. He smiles, lifting up a finger to tap one side of his glasses.
