"I'm gay." Daehyun blurted out, wanting to run at the sight of his parents face. Instead though, he bursted out laughing.

"Excuse me?" Mrs. Jung glared at her only son, seizing his laughter. He didn't wait for his father's reaction, clearing his throat and raising his voice a bit.

"I am homosexual." He added a shrugged like it was no big deal and was something his parents should have known about, though he wasn't even sure himself what his sexual preference was.

"You have to be kidding me, right?" Mr. Jung scowled, wondering if his son was being honest or trying to get out of this marriage.

"Nope. I am definitely into guys." Daehyun stated proudly.

"No you're not." Hyun-Jin finally spoke, surprising everyone around her. Her tone was sharp and unemotional.

"Yes I am. I am sorry that this isn't going the way you guys planned, but this is who I am." Daehyun looked over at his "fiancé" and noticed her pissed as fuck face, but it only made him happy inside. He tilted his head to the side confused by her anger, until she grabbed his shirt and pulled him close to her face. He widen his eyes and tried to pull away, but her strength got the best of him.

"Listen here, Jung Daehyun. I have been waiting for a guy for years! I am not going to miss this opportunity!" She screamed in his face, no hint of joking in her eyes or voice. Daehyun finally was able to pull away and step away from the crazy girl in front of him.

"I am sorry Hyun-Jin, but if I am going to be forced to marry you, you won't like it. I won't love you, because I don't even know you and I am not attracted to you, you know since you are a girl and all." The younger excused himself and headed back towards solitude. By the time he was outside the door, he turned around due to the sound of stomping behind him. Mr. Jung stalked over to his son, ignoring the boy flinching and passed by, entering the room and starting to throw things around. Daehyun watched in disbelief as his father picked up his laptop, the one thing he was very proud of, the one thing that knew the real him, that let him write about his feelings to his heart's content and didn't tell a single soul or judge him. Daehyun tried to stop him, but it was too late as the electronic was thrown against the wall and split into two pieces; the screen shattering. "Appa!" Daehyun ran over to his father and tried to calm him down, but was pushed onto the floor next to his destroyed laptop. "Why appa... why?..."

"I am sorry that your life isn't going the way you planned, but this is how life is. Suck it up. You will marry Hyun-Jin and you will love her, understand?" He said between clenched teeth. Daehyun responded by shaking his head no, which earned him a slap to the face and his hair to be grabbed. Daehyun closed his eyes as his head was yanked back and cried out in pain. "Do. You. Under. Stand?" He growled. The boy shook his head yes and let out a sigh of relief when his dad finally let go and left the room, slamming the door for emphasis.

After a few minutes of crying on the floor, Daehyun crawled over to his bed. He slowly lifted himself and rolled over onto it, burying his face into his pillow and screaming until his throat hurt. After awhile his screams quieted down, letting his tears take over and his sadness consume him. Hours passed by and Daehyun had yet to fall asleep. Looking over at his laptop, he wondered if all his stories and diaries, his whole life, were gone forever. Well, his old life that is. He didn't particularly love his new one.

Who was I?

Daehyun couldn't tell since he could never be himself around others. He had a general idea of who he was; He was kind, smart, charming, but was he really these things or just acted like that around all the fake people in his town?

Daehyun knew now that he needed to get away; Away from all this hate and abuse and judgment. He had enough money saved up from his years of allowances he never spent. He was going to run away.

But is that the best move? I mean where would I go? How would I act? Would I be accepted?

Daehyun cut off his negative thoughts and focused on being confident. If he didn't get away now, his life was over and there was no way he wanted to spend the rest of his days on autopilot.

"It's decided then. I'm going to move out."
