Chapter 23
Grayson has been busy lately at his job. Since we were on a break from university, he requested extra shifts so we could start buying stuff for Ryder. We were going ti have to buy a lot of stuff since he was our first baby, meaning we didn't already have a crib or a carseat and stuff like that.
I spent a lot of time by myself since I didn't feel to comfortable going out. I was showing a bit and it wasn't going to be long before I wouldn't be able to hide it anymore.
However, I actually decided to go out today because, like always, I was craving white macadamia cookies, as well as some hot chocolate. I could always buy a packagae from the store, but I'd rather go to the cafe.
And it totally wasn't because of the attractive worker there. Absolutely not.
Of course it was. I mean, who could blame me? If anyone were to blame, it was the attractiveness that was Grayson.
When I got to the front of the line, Grayson gave me a smile. "The usual?"
I nodded. "Yeah, and a medium hazelnut hot chocolate."
Grayson grabbed a medium sized cup and a marker. "Name?"
I gave him a flat look. "You know my name."
"Name?"
I sighed. "Poppy."
"And how do you spell that?"
"Are you serious?" I asked. Grayson just gave me an innocent look. "P-O-P-P-Y."
Grayson nodded and wrote it down. "So that's F-L-O-W-E-R, right?"
"Are you doing this so you have an excuse to talk to me?" I asked.
"What? No," Grayson denied. "Absolutely....Fine, you caught me. It's not my fault you look hot in my sweater. And I mean extremely hot. I might get a tenth degree burn from touching you."
"Is that a thing?" I asked.
"It is now," Grayson said with a wink.
"Hey," the boy standing behind me said to Grayson. "Can you stop holding up the line by flirting with her? I mean, I know why you would, but still."
"Yeah, that's my girlfriend you're talking about," Grayson snapped. I gave him a look that told him to calm down. He wasn't supposed to snap at customers, no matter how annoying they were. He sighed and looked at me. "So, that's five macadamia nut cookies and one medium hazelnut hot chocolate, right?"
I nodded and he told me the price. I gave him to money and he gave me the cookies before I moved to the other side of the counter to wait for my hot chocolate.
The barista ended up calling Flower since it was the name Grayson wrote on the cup. She asked if my name actually was Flower, which caused me to glare at Grayson. He winked at me and I rolled my eyes before sitting at a nearby table.
I just sat at the table and at the cookies, constantly sneaking glances at Grayson. Whenever he caught me looking at him, he would wink at me which caused me to blush since other customers would look at me. But I couldn't stop looking at him.
He was fine.
Finally, he got off his shift and sat down beside. "How long have you been checking me out?" he asked.
"I don't know," I said. "You're body was too distracting for me to count."
Grayson chuckled and leaned in closer to me. "You know," he said quielty into my ear. "If it weren't for Ryder, I'd take you back to the apartment to show you just how distracting my body can be."
I gasped. "Grayson!"
Grayson smiled innocently at me. "Don't knock it until you try it."
"I did try it," I reminded. "And honestly, it wasn't that good."
Grayson raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? Says the one who was screaming my name."
I covered my ears. "I don't want to hear it!"
"You already did."
"Go away."
Belle and Devon suddenly walked up to us and sat across from us. "What are you talking about?" Belle asked.
"Nothing!" I said just as Grayson said, "Sex."
"Gross," Belle muttered.
"What's gross about that?" Devon asked. "Just yesterday, we...."
I covered my ears again. "Nope! Just nope!"
"What are you freaking out about?" Belle asked. "I'm not the pregnant one."
"Ouch," I muttered.
"Devil spawn," Grayson said within a cough. "Well, Flower and I are going to head home. After all, we have some very important business to take care of." He stood up, taking my hand in his and pulling me up.
"I can't believe you said that," I muttered.
"What?" Grayson asked. "Flower, we've been together for almost two years and didn't have sex until a year and a half of dating. Quite frankly, if it weren't for Ryder, we'd be having fun every night."
"Grayson!"
"What? You're the one who asked why he hadn't had sex yet during prom."
"Can we stop talking about it?" I asked. "It's uncomfortable."
"So sex makes you uncomfortable?"
"Well, no...."
"Then...."
"Shut up."
"Only if you make me, baby." He gave me a smirk before kissing my forehead. "You know, I love bugging you."
"Yeah, I can tell," I said.
Grayson gave me a smile before we got to our apartment. Right after we got in, Grayson looked at me. "I still love you even though you don't want to have sex with me," Grayson joked.
"I never said I didn't want to," I said. "It's just that...." I stopped when I suddenly felt something. Something amazing.
"What? What's wrong?" Grayson asked.
I smiled at him. "Ryder just kicked."
"Seriously?" Grayson asked.
"Yes, seriously!" I said, followed by another kick. "I felt it again."
"Can....Can I feel it?" Grayson asked.
I took his hand and placed it on my belly, right where I felt Ryder kick the last two times. It took a while but eventually, Ryder kicked again, which only caused Grayson to smile brightly. "Holy crap," he said, his voice just above a whisper. "That's amazing. I'm going to love this baby with everything I got. You can count on it."

Isn't Grayson just the cutest? At times, he's all arrogant and flirty, but then when it comes to Ryder, he's so cute. cx
