Chapter ten
Piper's POV
Right now I was running for my life from things I had only seen in books. This seemed to be happening a lot, but that didn't matter to me right now because I couldn't stop thinking about the dream I had had right before we were chased out of the park. Immediately my mind went back to the dream I had had before we were chased out of the park.
"You know it's wrong to lead her on this way." I heard a beautifully feminine voice say as a beautiful woman walked into my view. Until she walked in I had been looking at the back on a man who was standing in what looked like a throne room. From what I could see he was wearing Greek style fighting armor and he had jet black hair, but I couldn't get a look at his face. The woman was wearing a long flowing, white Greek style dress. She had flowing brown hair and eyes what seemed to change color.-
"Well I can't help what happens. He's not even supposed to be with her anyway he's one of them." The man said sounding disgusted when he said the word 'them'. The man continued standing with his back to me.
"You don't see it do you?" the woman asked.
"See what?" the man replied.
"None of you can ever see it! He is the one person that makes her happy, but all you seem to care about it the fact that he's one of them."
"They have no respect for me and you want me to be happy that my daughter is with him?"
"She not with him yet but-" the woman started but the man cut her off.
"He'll end up leaving her because he doesn't belong where she's going." The man said still not turning to face the woman.
"You may be right but what if he doesn't? Would you still be like this?" she asked him.
"I don't know, but I do know that he would have left her no matter what, right? You're Aphrodite you can tell me what would have happened if they got together. Would he have left or would he have found some was to stay?" the man said. Did he call her Aphrodite? As in Goddess of love and beauty?
"He would leave but-" Aphrodite started but the man cut her off.
"He leaves. That's all I care about. He's not going to be there for her much longer. Am I right?"
"Yes. You are right but-" Aphrodite started but once again the man cut her off.
"I don't care about anything else he leaves, and it's going to be right after she's claimed."
"Alright I can see you're not going to change your mind, but him leaving isn't going to change how she feels about him. Whether you like it or not." Aphrodite said as she turned and walked away. The man continued standing there as he started to talk to himself. Or that's what it sounded like until I noticed that he was really talking to me.
"He's only going to leave you. At the time when you'll need a friend the most he's going to be gone and there's nothing you can do about it, and it will be soon. Very soon my child. Very soon." He said as he began to turn around. Just when I thought I would be able to see him my dream started to fade away, just like it did every time I was about to wake up. The moment he was fully turned around my dream was too faded for me to make out any details. Then when I woke up I acted like a total girl and started crying. I mean I know I AM a girl but I never really act like one, not a girly girl at least. Especially in front of him. I just couldn't face the fact that one day soon he was going to be gone. I had never really trusted my dreams, but ever since the first two came true I have a feeling this one will be too.
Now back to running for my life. We were running along some old back road trying not to get ourselves killed, and we were doing really well until he tripped and almost fell. I wasn't able to see it all because I was behind him. He had either tripped over a rock or a tree root. When he tripped I saw something gold flash in the air right in front of him but I could only get a glimpse of it before he dove in the air and caught it. The moment he landed on his stomach, sliding a little ways before stopping, the thing changed in his very hand. He was now holding a golden sword. I stopped in my tracks, my chest heaving up and down, and stared at him in shock. He was looking at the weapon as if it was going to talk or something.
