Chapter fourteen
"I never really pictured you as a fighting girl." I voice said causing me to jump out of my skin. I turned around my hand still on the adjusting strap on my armor. Standing in the doorway was the girl Jason had been talking to earlier. I think her name was Silena or something like that. I decided to take the chance and see if I had remembered it right.
"It's Silena right?" I asked
"Yea it is. I'm surprised you remembered. Anyway who forced you to fight?"
"Nobody. I wanted to. I think it may be fun and I could use some of that."
"Wow I defiantly didn't think you would fight willingly. Anyway I wanted to see how your days been. I can see you've already made a wardrobe change." She said pointing at my clothes. I looked down and saw what she was talking about. Annabeth had given me a camp shirt and told me to change into some comfortable jeans because it would be better than what I had on before. I had also changed into my trustee black and grey Nike running shoes.
"Yea Annabeth said it would be better if I fought in something comfortable rather then what I had been wearing." I told her as I tightened the strap of my armor until it was fixed the way Annabeth had done it.
"That doesn't bug you?" She replied looking at my left arm.
"Not really but I'm about to take it off for the fight." I replied as I started unwinding the ace bandage around my hand.
"And those glasses are comfortable?" she asked pointing at my glasses.
"I don't mind them but I'm also going to have to take them off to fight because of the helmet."
"Oh... Well it's not like you need them anyway." She replied plucking them off my face. I froze for a brief second. She just smiled at me. I knew there was something she knew that she wasn't saying and I was going to find out.
"Excuse me?" I said.
"I said you don't need them. Neither does Jason. Both of you also have in colored contacts. I'm a daughter of Aphrodite I know the differences in colored contacts and the real thing." She said after I gave her a shocked and confused look.
"Look please promise you won't tell anyone else. You're the only one that knows and I'd like to keep it that way."
"First, why'd you do it? Hid your natural eye color when it's most likely the prettier of the two."
"We had to. I mean it's not like we wanted to but people do what they have to when the time calls. Please promise me that you won't say anything."
"If you wish, but another question before I leave. What's your real eyes color?"
"Mine are Sea-Green and Jason's are Electric-Blue. Now if you don't mind I need to get going." I replied picking up my helmet, grabbing my glasses back before stalking past her. I quickly made my way to the mess hall where I was greeted by Annabeth.
"There you are. Here, this is the sword you used in practice. Luke dropped it off. Said it was the one you said was balanced the best so he figured you want to fight with it again. Now come on we've got to take our places." She said pushing the sword at me before she started walking towards the woods. I grabbed the sword and followed taking my place beside her once we were in the woods.
"The path should be straight forward so you shouldn't get lost really. Good luck." She said as she moved over ready to lead her team down their path. I took off my glasses, tucked them in my back packet then slid on my helmet. Same I thought. I had just gotten my helmet on when a gong sounded and everyone ran to get into position.
