Chapter eighteen
Piper's POV
I woke up the next morning staring at the ceiling with my head on Jason's lap. Still wanting to sleep I rolled over so that I was looking at Jason's feet and pulled my sleeping bag up to my neck and drifted back to sleep. Shortly after I fell back asleep I felt someone shaking me, trying to get me to wake up. I could tell that it wasn't Jason because the voice that was saying my name was in front of me and familiar.
"Percy what do you want?" I asked, my voice sounding tired.
"It's time for you both to get up and get dressed." He said shaking me again.
"Fine." I said as I slowly got up and woke Jason. Once we were all awake we started our day as we had yesterday. There was only a slight difference in the schedules from yesterday and today. Instead of having lunch preparation, archery, weapon-making, letters home and volleyball we had a store check, javelin throwing, riding the rapids, cabin clean-up and unarmored combat. We set out and tackled the day to the best of our abilities.
Jason proved to be really skilled at throwing a javelin and he did okay in unarmored combat. Percy and I on the other hand really had a blast with the rapids and proved, like Jason, okay in unarmored combat. We had had a pretty basic day at camp and were getting ready to turn in for the night when Luke walked up to us and told us that we'd shown potential today before he walked back to his bed. The three of us laid down and I almost immediately fell asleep.
I found that morning came all too quickly and for some reason I didn't have any memory of any dream. Which is weird seeing as I normally had a dream every night, but I wasn't complaining because I had finally gotten a good nights rest. Just like yesterday morning we got ready and started tackling the day ahead of us.
After Greek mythology we were sent to clean out the stables. I didn't mind scooping poop with Jason and Percy because we always found ways to make all of our activities fun, so time flew by and soon enough we were in the arena getting ready for our sword training.
"Percy! Piper! Come forward please!" I head Luke call once he had finished giving the last sparing pair tips. Together Percy and I stepped forward with our swords at our side knowing that we were going to have to spar.
"Use only the basic moves I taught you to fight until one of you is disarmed. Fight!" he called. Percy drew his sword and swung again and again.
Clash, Clash, Clash
I blocked each move and returned with my own.
Cling, Clash, Screech.
Percy slid his blade down my blade until the hilt of his sword hit mine and there was nothing else we could do. I was about to push my sword forward into Percy and make him stumble when I heard a familiar scream. Immediately I sheathed my sword and looked back at Jason who was already back peddling through the crowd. I followed pushing my way past the group of people that had gathered in the arena. The moment we were free of the crowd we took off in a sprint, making our way towards Half-Blood hill, where the screaming was coming from.
When we arrived at the hill we were immediately met by a crowd that had gathered, most likely around the person the had screamed. We started pushing our way through the crowd, not caring what the campers said as we pushed them out of the way. When we broke free from the crowd I could see the back side of a blonde figure standing maybe 15 or 20 feet away from the first line of people in the crowd. I was about to make my way forward when suddenly a set of brown headed twins and Annabeth appears in front of us.
"Where do you think your going?" one of the twins asked.
"To help her." Jason replied pointing the blonde figure.
