Chapter eleven
I woke to someone talking. Well actually it was someone asking a lot of questions.
"What's going to happen when the solstice?" I heard the voice coning from my right so I turned my head to look in the direction of the voice and saw a girl with curly blonde hair, around my height leaning over Percy. It looked like she was feeding him something.
"What was taken?" she asked Percy, who just looked up at her. I was only awake to hear that much because I drifted out again. The next time I woke up I woke for good and found that the room I was in was an infirmary. I was laying on a bed with a blanket pulled up to under my arms and something was laying on my left arm. Slowly I looked over and saw that Jason had fallen asleep on my arm. Deciding not to wake him just yet I looked in the other side of me and saw that Percy was also laying in a bed with a blanket pulled over him. As I looked around I could see that there were several beds placed on both sides of the room, some of them occupied with people getting treated for cuts and others were made up as if they had not been used today. Once I had gotten a good look around I decided I would try and wake Jason. I gently reached over with my right hand, finding that this simple motion took more effort than usual and ran my fingers through his hair.
"Jason." I said finding my voice barely audible because my mouth was so dry. I attempted to clean my throat and tried again, still finding my voice barely a whisper. Even though I was talking really low it seemed to have registered in his mind because he lifted his head up and looked at me. The moment he saw me I smile spread across his face.
"Hey you're up." He said in a low voice as he pulled his chair a little closer to my bedside.
"Hey." I replied, my voice still low.
"How you feeling?" he asked as he gently placed his hand on the side of my head and started rubbing his thumb over my cheek.
"Like crap. What about you? You look beat." I said placing my right hand on his arm that was stroking my cheek.
"I'm fine. Listen I need to tell you something." He said looking serious.
"What is it?" I said trying to sit up a little, finding I was very weak so I just stayed where I was after Jason protested.
"Hey take it easy. Look you've been out for two days. That's the reason you're so weak, why you can't really talk and why you're most likely starving. I was able to get you here and the campers working the infirmary got you in bed and said you'd have to come back on your own."
"You said two days? Have you eaten or slept since then?" I asked noticing the bags under his eyes.
"He's only slept a couple hours the way you woke him and he's ate maybe twice the whole two days he's been here. You have to drag him out of here really." I heard a familiar female voice say from my right. I turned my head to see the blonde girl who had feed Percy something was sitting on the bed between Percy and I. She was looking at the two of us very closely. I simply looked back at Jason and asked.
"Is that true?"
"I wasn't going to leave you here alone." He replied.
"You still need to eat and sleep." I said trying to sit up again. This time he helped me because when he protested I didn't stop. Once I was resting with my back against the head board of the bed I decided I was going to get some answers.
"While you were here I convinced him it would be ok to come eat dinner but he refused to eat breakfast or lunch." The blonde girl said.
"Where exactly is here?" I asked.
"That will be explained in a moment by Chiron. He is outside on the big house porch waiting on you and Percy. I was sent to tell you that whenever you are ready to come Chiron wishes to speak to you and Percy on the big house porch." She said standing up. When she stood up I was able to get a good look at what she had on. She was wearing a pair of blue jeans, grey running shoes and a bright orange shirt that said CAMP HALF-BLOOD on the front. Wanting to get out of this bed I slowly folded the blanket on the bed back and swung my legs off the bed and slowly tried to get to my feet to find that my knees would go weak and I would stumble.
