Chapter 3

"Mr. Payne, your actions are rising." Harry said.

"Thank you Mr. Styles. It is indeed thanks to your amazing work." I say with a smile.

"I'm glad you are appreciating it." He said.

Harry and I discussed a few more things before he left to his office. Joanna entered just as he left to inform me of my next move.

"You have a meeting with Mr. Horan in two minutes." She informed.

"Okay." I say.

"Also someone called asking for you." She tells me.

"Who?" I ask.

"She said her name was Violet Lane." She reads the name out loud from one of her papers.

I was surprised that she has called. I didn't expect to hear from her.

"What did she want?" I ask.

"She wanted me to deliver you this message, I quote: Mr. CEO how are you? I just wanted to call you to tell you that Tommy is fine. He been running around and messing with everyone. I figured you would like to know as you wanted to meet him. Anyways, I just wanted to say that he is okay. Uhm...yeah bye." Joanna read.

I couldn't help but smile to myself. That Violet Lane girl is something else.

"How is my agenda for today?" I ask.

"You are free from 5pm." She informs me.

"Okay." I say. "Let's go to that meeting with Horan."

"Liam mate you need to go there. The food is so good. Best I ever had." Niall is rambling already.

"I will mate. Soon. I make sure I go to the restaurant." I promise.

"Take a lady with ya!" He smirks.

"I'm not sure. You know I don't take my ladies to dinner." I smirk at him and he laughs.

"You take them to your bed. I get ya." He laughs loudly.

"Like you don't do that..." I accuse him.

"At least I buy them dinner." He laughs making me laugh too.

Niall and I are business collegues. He helped me raise this empire since we both were at college. He is my second and also one of my best friends. I didn't befriend much people but I did with him.

"Anyways Niall, I have to go." I say.

"Where are you going? I thought we could go for a beer." He said.

"I'm going to the kid's hospital. I promised I'll visit." I say.

"What?" He laughs surprised. "I thought I never seen the day you will go to one of this charities without being for the image."

"It was a nice place. The kids were cute. I just missed meeting one of the kids and I am going to do that." I said.

"Who is the bird?" He asks.

"What bird?" I ask.

"The bird who you laid eyes on that is the reason why you are going." He says.

"There is no bird. There is this really awkward girl who is a volunteer there but she is not attractive in the slightness." I say.

"All right mate." He said giving up with a smirk.

He thought I was lying and I may be. I just don't understand why I feel like I want to see Violet again. I mean, she is not the kind of girl I will go after. She is got no boobs or butt. She is cute but not sexy which is something I like on a girl. She is weird, odd and awkward. Violet sure is a virgin and I am more into experienced women.

Shocking my thought I made my way to my Range Rover and drive to the hospital. I didn't tell anyone I was coming because I am Liam Payne and I do what I want.

In just a few minutes I am walking towards the front door. This time there are no paparazzi around and I feel much more comfortable because I don't have to pretend that I am nice.

"Hi." I say to the woman at the door. "I was looking for Violet Lane?"

"Oh she is with the kids on the playing room." She smiled at me politely as she spoke.

"Thank you." I say feeling odd for doing it.

I never thank anyone. I just do it here because I feel respect for this people who are taking care of others.

I surprise myself as I remember the way towards the playing room. It was in the middle of the hospital and lots of toys were around the place. Some kids ran up and down, some kids played with toys in silence and some were drawing or reading sat on the tables.

That is when I spotted her. Violet was sat on the floor with a little kid sat on her lap. She was reading the kid a book and he pointed every now and then to the illustrations. She smiled at him and pecked his bald head.

"You are Mr. Payne." The girls whose name I remembered to be Isabella said next to me.

"I am. You are Isabella right?" She nodded.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I came to meet Tommy. I heard he is fine." I told her.

"Yes he is." He pointed to the little boy sat on Violet's lap.

I immediately realized that I didn't meet the kid before so he must be Tommy. I thanked Isabella and made my way towards them.

"Hi." I say.

Violet looked up and surprise took over her face as soon as she realized I was actually there.

"Oh, hi! I didn't expect you to come." She said.

"Well I wanted to meet him." I sat down on the floor. "Hi Tommy, I am Liam Payne."

"How do you know my name?" He asked surprised.

"I know everything." I joked which made Violet roll her eyes.

"You do not." She muttered.

"Hey!" I say with a smile. "Violet told me."

"Okay." He smiled at my answer.

"What were you doing?" I ask.

"We were reading Peter Pan. It's my favorite!" He said with a bright smile.

"You know what? My best friend loves Peter Pan too." I told him instantly reminding me of Louis.

"Wow!!" He laughed. "Which is your favorite?"

"I think I like The Lion King." I say.

"That's my favorite too." He said with a smile.

"Is so?" I ask making him nod. "What is your favorite?"

"I-" Violet was speechless. "My favorite is The Little Mermaid."

"Girls..." Tommy muttered making us laugh.
