Chapter 12

A smile was plastered on my face for the rest of the day. It was unbelievable the effect Violet had in me after just a few weeks of meeting her.

Her massage made me feel new. If I closed my eyes I could feel the soft touch of her hands still lingering on my skin. It relaxed me just to think about it.

"Harold!" Niall's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "What are you thinking about?"

"Louis' engagement party is tomorrow." I say.

"I know mate! He doesn't shut up about it."

"Are you going?" I ask.

"No, I leave for Tokyo tomorrow morning, remember?" He says as if it was obvious.

"Of course I totally forgot." I say with a sigh.

"Are your mum and sister coming?" He asks carefully.

"No, I forgot to call them to tell them." I lie.

"Yeah, sure, you don't need to lie to me Harold." He says.

"But it's true I forgot!" I defend myself but keep on lying.

"Okay, I will pretend that I believe you." He said and I roll my eyes.

"Anyways, the party is going to be shit. I thought you were coming and now I'll be so bored without you." I say changing the subject.

"I know mate. Bring some chick with you?" He suggests.

"I can't. It's been a while since the last time I went out. And I can't call one of the chicks I have already mess with." I say.

"Right your rule of never fucking with the same chick twice. I get it." He rolled his eyes.

"It is a good rule though." I say with a smirk.

"Then ask Violet! I have seen her leaving your office this morning." He smiles at me. "She looked lovely, don't you think?"

"She brought me lunch. I am not asking her." I state.

"Why not? You seem to be getting on pretty well." He smirks.

"And we are. But just as friends." I say.

"Yeah, sure, I'm yet to see the day Liam Payne has a female friend around him that he doesn't want to fuck." He laughed.

"I do not like her like that. She is a sweet and nice girl and we get on well. That is it." I defended our friendship.

"Then it's even a better idea to ask her. She can go with you as a friend so you will not be alone." He suggests.

"Maybe I will." I say.

"But now being serious, Violet is a gorgeous girl. Don't tell me you don't feel attracted to her." He insists.

"Niall this conversation is over." I say beginning to feel a bit worked up.

"No it's not. I think you are beginning to really like her and that is why you are afraid to ask her to come with you." He says.

"I do not! I don't find Violet attractive in the sightless. She always is poorly dressed, she never wears any makeup on, she's got no boobs or ass and she is nothing I find attractive." I shout at him.

I heard a sound of my office door closing and I swear I saw Violet's dirty blonde locks.

"Mate you stepped out of line." Niall said shocking his head.

"I-I-" I tried to say.

"Go behind her!" Niall shouted at me.

I ran to my office door with my phone on my ear. I tried to call her but she didn't answer. So I called the security of the office.

"Hi! It's Mr. Payne here. Please, don't let Ms. Lane leave the complex." I say.

"We will not let her leave sir." The man says on the other end.

I heard the lift ding and then the doors opened. I stepped inside and pressed the ground floor button. In just a few seconds I am greet with the entrance, two bulky security men and shouts coming from Violet.

"You can't leave orders from Mr. Payne." One of the men tells her as the other grabs her arms.

"Then tell Mr. Payne that he can shove his orders up his ass." She shouted back at him.

"That is enough." I speak.

Her eyes met mine and I can see tears on her face. It pained me to see her this way. I never meant for her to hear that. God I don't even know how that words left my mouth. Truth is that not one word I say is true.

"Free her please." I order them.

They let go of her arms and she shakes herself from their grip. She glance at me with hate on her eyes and my heart breaks at her hateful gaze.

"Please Violet, heard me out." I beg.

"Go fuck yourself with a cactus Liam." She says.

"C'mon Violet, don't be like that." I reach for her but she steps away.

"Don't touch me, I am disgusting to you." She says with hurt on her eyes.

"No you are not!" I say at her.

"Oh god Liam, can you stop lying? I am so done with you! I- I thought we were friends but I see that we are not." She shakes her head. "I don't even know why I tried with you."

She stops a tear from falling and then she turns around to leave.

"Don't give up on me, please, keep on trying." I beg her.

"Why should I? You showed me that you are repulsed by me." She speaks.

"No, that is not true. I am not used to this. I am not used to female friends. I am not the best when people tease me. And I lie way too much." I admit.

"Do you think I am stupid? Do you really think I will believe you?" She asked.

"I don't expect you too because I will not trust myself if I was on your place. But I am truly sorry and I like what we have. I don't want to lose it." I say.

By now everybody is looking at us and our confrontation but I don't care. I just want her to give me another chance.

"Why should I give you another change?" She asks.

"Because I am a liar, because I love being around you, because since I met you I smile more than on the last few years, because you care about me and that is something I am not used to. But most specially because I don't have much people around me and you have become very important to me. I can't lose you over something I don't believe myself." I say.

"I have to think about it." She says.

"Fair enough." I say.

She nods and turns around to walk away.

"If you know the answer by tomorrow, I will like it if you attended Louis' engagement party with me. I want you to be my date for the event." I say.

"Text me about it and I will decide what to do." She says not turning around.

"Okay." I say as I see her walk away.
