Chapter 13

It's been over 24 hours since I last spoke to Violet. Last night I barely got any sleep because I was only thinking in how big I fucked up. I can't believe how stupid I have been.

I already knew she was insecure and I went a hit her where it hurt. I have been a big asshole and I don't deserve her at all.

She is beautiful both inside and out. I should have never made fun of her looks. I know it's wrong and I was just trying to shut up Niall. But I shouldn't, I am a compulsive liar.

I tried to shake my thoughts from her but I didn't succeed. I was so mad at myself for what I did and I was sure that she was not going to give me another change. I didn't deserve it after all.

I put my tie in place and stepped out of the car. I saw Louis smiling happily at Eleanor. I sigh because I will never have that. It's not something I wanted either but knowing that I pushed away the only person who has cared about me in a while, hurt me.

"Liam mate! Thanks for coming!" Louis pulled me into a hug.

"I'll not miss it." I say with a fake smile.

"C'mon! My mom is dying to see you!" He said sounding way too excited.

I follow him till we make it to where everyone is. Louis' mom appears in front of me and in no time she pulls me in a hug.

"I have missed you so much Liam." She says with a big smile.

"Me too." I say back while I faked a smile.

"I heard you are a big CEO now. I can't believe it." She says and I can feel that she is proud of my success.

"I am." I smile and nod.

"Wow! Anne must be so proud." She says with a big smile.

"Yeah, she is." I say smiling politely at the mention of my mother.

"How is she? It's been a while since last time I heard from her!" She tells me.

"She is fine. She lives in Manhattan with Gemma." I say.

"Oh god! I should pay them a visit soon." She smiles.

"Shall we sit down already?" Louis suggests.

"Of course. I am starving." His mum says.

We sat down and I say my hello's to Louis' siblings who have grown up a lot since the last time I saw them. Eleanor gives me a hug too and I congratulate her on the engagement before adding a compliment to her ring.

I took a look at the front door of the restaurant and see an old couple entering. No sight of Violet. I should have known she wasn't coming. She will never forgive me for what I said.

"Liam, mate, the waiter asked you what you want to eat!" Louis voice pulled me back to reality.

"Oh yeah right. I will have the chicken Alfredo. Thank you." I say to the waiter.

I glance at my phone hoping for a message from Violet telling me that she was not coming. But I guess I don't even deserve that. I should have known that she was too good for a scumbag like me.

I excuse myself to go to the bathroom and after doing my business I wash my hands. A sight leaves my mouth as I see my reflection on the mirror in from of me. I touch my hair putting it in place and step outside.

As I am about to go back to the table I see a girl with a familiar dirty blonde hair. My mouth parts in surprise just as her head turns around and she softly smiles at me.

I didn't think she will show up and less looking like she is looking. She had a little floral dress that had nearly all her back bare. The skirt of the dress hugged her curves perfectly. The blue and red made the perfect contrast between her blonde looks and her tanned skin. The look was completed with red sandals on her feet and a purse on her hand.

She was wearing makeup. However it was a pretty natural look that suited her perfectly.

She looked sexy but she still had that innocent look I love on her. I fixed my tie that suddenly feel too tight around my neck and made my way to her.

"Hi." I say speechless. "You look amazing."

"Thank you." Her cheeks turned red.

I smiled shyly at the floor because she was too cute and too beautiful. But then I remembered what happened just yesterday and I gave her a sad look.

"I am so sorry about yesterday." I apologized again.

"Why don't we put that aside?" She asks.

"Why do you want to?" I ask.

"I want to let it go. It happened and we can't change it now. Let's move on." She says.

"Okay. Come, everybody is at the table." I offered her my hand.

She smiles and takes it and we make our way to the table. Everybody is engaged on their own conversations but as soon as we step in, all eyes are on us.

"Everyone, this is Violet Lane. My date." I say with a proud smile.

She was my date. She accepted to be my date. This amazingly beautiful inside and out woman came tonight here as my date.

"Wow! You are Violet?" Louis asked surprised jumping up from his seat.

"Yes, I'm so sorry to be late but I couldn't find the place." She apologized.

"No worries babe." Louis said. "I'm Louis by the way."

"It's so nice to finally meet you Louis. I have heard a lot of you." She smiles at him.

"I swear it is not true." Louis joked making her laugh.

"That's a relief." She joked back.

"This is my fiancée Eleanor." Louis presented her to Eleanor.

"Nice to meet you." She smiled at her. "And big congrats on the future wedding."

"Thank you so much." Eleanor answers for her and Louis.

We sat down and we engaged on several conversations with the people around us. I smile at her every time I can and she blushes. I can't help but smirk at the effect I got on her.

"So for how long have you been dating?" Louis' mum asks us.

"Oh we are not. We are not dating." Violet says with blushed cheeks.

"We are friends." I add.

"Oh that's such a shame! You make a pretty couple." Louis' mum says with a smile.

"Thanks." I say.

We eat in silence, only sharing words here and there but it is enough for me to know that she is here with me. Louis smirks and winks at me every now and then making me laugh.

Violet looked more beautiful than ever and it wasn't because she has put more effort that other times I have seen her. It was because I was beginning to accept that I was completely infatuated by her.
