Chapter 11
It's been a week since I started exchanging messages with Violet. We have met two times to grab lunch together but other than that we have just texted. We were getting on pretty fine. We have never fought only as a joke but it's been good so far.
I was just finishing a few reports before having lunch when I felt a knock on the door. Joanna's face appeared making me frown.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Mr. Payne, Mrs. Lane is here to see you." She says.
I was surprised but if I learnt something about Violet is that she is one for surprises.
"Tell her to come inside." I say.
Joanna nods and in no time Violet appears through the door with a bright smile. Her hair was falling on her face which make her look so cute. She was wearing a white top and a long skirt.
"Hi Liam!" She says. "I was bored and I thought let's bring lunch to Liam."
"Thanks for thinking about me. I was a bit let down because I have no messages from you this morning." I say.
"You told me today was a busy day so I figured you probably will be too busy to go get lunch and I decided I bring it to you." She pointed to her Chinese take away bags.
"Well thank you, that was really thoughtful of you." I smile at her.
"I didn't know what you like so I think of got a bit of everything." She tells me.
"I will have anything really." I say with a thankful smile. "Let me just finish this report before we eat."
"It's fine." She said before walking to my window.
She loved the sighs; she told me that was the best spot on my office. I smiled at her as she glanced outside.
I shake my head and finish the reports. I sent them to my workers before turning the computer off.
"I'm free now." I say leaning down on my chair.
"You look tired." She says as she walks towards me.
"Well maybe that is because someone was sending me photos of pugs making funny faces at 1 am." I say with a little laugh.
"They were cute though." She says with a big smile.
I like when she smiled like that. It was pure, sincere and real. It was her true smile.
"You look nice today." I found myself saying.
"Well thank you Mr. CEO." She smiles at me as red covers her cheeks.
"We can have lunch on the sofa. It's that alright?" I ask.
"Yeah." She agrees.
I carry the bags and place them on top of the coffee table. She sits down and I sat next to her. I push the bag open and settle the different containers along the table.
"Chopstick?" I ask offering them to her.
"I'll try but I am the worst with them." She laughs.
"Here you go." I hand her the chopsticks before getting ones for myself.
"So how was work?" She asks.
"Same old." I sigh. "Keeping it busy."
"You sure are." She says. "Mr. busy."
"So now I get another nickname." I say with a smile.
"You just did." She smiles too.
"How was work for you?" I ask.
