I open the red door, knowing it probably wouldn't wake up Kyle. I sure hope it didn't, I was too tired to deal with him today. I walk to the kitchen without running into anybody, which was strange for this time of day but I don't care.
I see a group of people talking quietly.
"What's going on?" I ask. I walk closer to them and I see Jeb and Maggy arguing. This wasn't out of the ordinary, but what about this time?
"There's someone walking around outside the caves." Men says and continues whispering to Maggy.
"In the middle of the desert? A seeker?" I am getting worried now.
"There's no others, and it's obviously lost. They wouldn't do that. So unless they have some nuts too, this one's human." Jeb said. Maggy hit her forehead with her hand in a frustrated day.
"Come on Jeb. A human? Don't be ridiculous." She was irritated but I was just curious. What if it was human?
"Well I might as well check. What harm could it do?" He asks, no not really asks. He wasn't looking for an answer he would do it anyway. His rifle was at his side, ugh.
"You'll get us caught!" Maggy excaimed. They kept on arguing, but I knew how it was going to end in the first place. Jeb was going out to see what it was doing and then coming back to get us if it was interesting enough, and I was guessing that meant human.
The whole day continued on as normal. If people wondered where Jeb was, they didn't ask. Probably assuming he was off wandering somewhere. I had to work cooking today. Something I didn't usually do, but there was nothing to do in the fields.
A few hours later Jeb came back, telling Maggy to come back with him. Human? I wasn't missing out in this. Kyle overheard and he wasn't going to miss it either. A few other people came, too, leaving Maggy more annoyed than she already was.
