Chapter 15

When we got there Lucy was waiting impatiently outside her eyebrows scrunched up in worry.

"What took you so long?"  She exclaimed.

"I'm sorry Lucy, there has been a bit of a delay." Peter said apologetically. "How are the crewmen faring?"

"Still breathing, but they're starting to look pale."

Lucy led us down to the bottom of the ship where the sleeping cabins were. Sure enough the crewmen looked in worse shape than before.

I watched as Willow walked to one of the hammocks where a blonde man laid, his eyes closed and his breathing steady. She reached in her brown satchel and took out a small jar that had some sort of brown dust in it. She opened it releasing a strong mint like smell. She dipped two fingers into the jar and wiped the dust across the man's forehead. She did this to all the other men and as soon as she was done she walked to the middle of the room. "Step back." she said with her hands clasped at her chest. We all did as we were told. She closed her eyes and started mumbling a couple of incoherent words. She opened her eyes and put her hands down.

"Look!" Lucy said. "The men are waking up!"

Sure enough the men were opening their eyes and the color was returning to their faces. Sighs and groans escaped their throats as they sat up to stretch.

"Captain!" said Caspian as he walked over the blond man that Willow went to first. "Are you alright?"

The Captain blinked several times and smiled. "Of course I am! Why shouldn't I be?" He saw our confused faces and looked around. "Why is the rest of the crew down here? They should be up sailing the ship."

"Aye, I think that could be arranged." smiled Caspian.

After a couple of hours we set sail. Willow stayed back along with Gruff: there were some things she needed to attend to and she needed Gruff's assistance.

Morning quickly turned into night and night into day. As we got closer to the next island I could feel the tension in the air. As the sun was setting Peter went up to the top deck and called out everyone.

"I have called you all, to remind you of the danger ahead of us. As your High King I can only wish for your safety and health. It is my duty as well as my family and King Caspian's to save Narnia and all it's people." He looked around at all of us. "We will fight for Narnia!" Peter yelled putting his sword in the air. His voice was chorused by more shouts of Narnia. I smiled and raised my sword in the air.

"For Narnia!" I shouted.  From the corner of my eye I saw Edmund who happened to be looking the same time I did. I looked away quickly and blushed involuntarily.

Don't deny your feelings.

I looked around to see find the source of the voice. It came as a soft whisper and left as a small breeze. Confused I brushed it off as my imagination and went on preparing for a battle that will end lives.

While on the ship Peter had us do some vigorous training to prepare ourselves. Most of the times I lost against the guys which made me start to doubt myself. I was never cut out to be a warrior of any sort. There was never potential within me to begin with.

"I will retire for the night. Are you coming along Charlotte?" asked Peter breaking me away from my thoughts.

"No," I shook my head. "I'll stay back for a little longer."
