Rose looked at herself calmly in the mirror, feeling her insides go crazy with nervousness.
"Okay," she breathed out, "You look good today, Rose. You don't have to be nervous, this is just another one of those balls that you always go to! Don't. Be. Nervous."
A knock on the door made Rose jump.
"I-it's open!" she stuttered.
The door opened and popped in her foster father's head, a smile playing on his face.
"Hello, my flower, are you ready for the party?"
Rose nodded, "Yes, but... I'm nervous."
Her father chuckled, "Oh, don't be nervous, my little flower! I'm sure you'll wow everyone at the ball, especially that little prince boyfriend of yours!"
"Dad, he's not my boyfriend," Ross rolled her eyes playfully, a slight blush on her face, "We're only friends!"
Her father chuckled, "Well, when you're ready come out. Your 'friend' is already here, waiting for you."
