Liam drove off leaving me clueless to where we were going. We took about and hour drive to the mall. "Liam what are we doing here? I got new clothes two days ago?" I asked. "Because malls are fun." He responded. I just laughed shaking my head. While we were in the mall Liam bought me the new One Direction perfume (of course). Then we walked over to a book store. I wanted to look for this one book to let me continue this series I love. I was browsing for a book, but I couldn't find it so I was about to ask Liam to help me find it. Although when I turned around he was gone. I began looking around for him then I glanced across the hall thing to the store across from the mall. I had to do a double-take but yep I saw it. Liam was coming out of a jewelry store shoving a black box in his pocket. "Who were ya buyin jewelry for?" I asked rocking back and forth on my feet batting my eyelashes. "Oh it's nothing just something Lou wanted me to pick up." He responded. "So did you find the book?" He changed subjects. "Nope can you help me?" I asked pouting. "Sure thing what's it called?" He chattered. "It's Taken at Dusk by C.C. Hunter it's the third book in the Shadow Falls series." I smiled. "Okay." He sang then began looking for the book. "AHHA!" Liam chimed holding up the book. "Is this it?" He continued. "Wow I look for 15 minutes you look for one second!" I crowed snatching the book and going to buy it.
We acted stupid in the rest of the stores until the owner asked us to leave. It was so fun! Before we knew it 2 hours passed. We headed outside to the car then took a 20 minute drive to a seafood place. We went in, talked a bit, ate food then left once again entering the car. The rest of the ride home we blasted music and sang crazily. The looks people gave us when we got to a stop light, when we were dancing and singing like mad people, were priceless! Instead of Liam driving us home he drove to a field and parked the car. "What are we doing here?" I puzzled. "Why do you think we would be here?" Liam answered. "I have no clue?" I admitted. "WOW you don't remember this place?" He pondered. "No, should I?" I muttered. Liam didn't respond he just wiggled out of the car and I followed him. We began to walk into the forest. Luckily it wasn't dark or else I would have protested against it. There was a little walkway at the peak of the forest. As we entered Massive trees created a canopy over our heads. It was absolutely beautiful how the hues of green brightened with the sun on the other side. I began to look around and noticed the tree placements familiar. I swung my head to the left and noticed a gigantic tree fallen over. It was withered, a grayish light brown color stripped from its bark.
***FLASHBACK***
"Hurry up Mikey!" I hollered behind me as Liam and I ran to our new amusement. There it was. A tree was knocked down in a storm two nights ago and Liam, Mike, and I turned it into our new shield/ plank/ pirate ship/ stage/ island/ anything else our little minds imagined it as. Liam and I climbed up onto the tree on opposite ends holding up our wands (a.k.a. sticks) casting spells at each other. Today it was used as a wizard battle ground. Liam and I were battling each other him being called the "Candy Crushing King of Crushantia" and me being called the "Swirly Candy Princess of Candyopilis". We were battling over which was better sweet or sour. I controlled everything sweet and he controlled everything sour and whoever won the battle would get all the sweetness/sourness in the world (a.k.a Mike). We were both ducking, running, jumping, rolling, all over the "battle ground", flinging "magic dust", "casting spells", anything magically related you could think of we did. After a half hour I successfully won the battle and we returned to our fort to put away our wands for the day.
***END OF FLASHBACK***
"OH MY GOSH FORT SUGAR SPARKLES!!!!!" I squeal running to where I remember our old tree house to be. "GLAD YOU CAUGHT ON!" I heard Liam bark from behind me. I hurdled over logs and rocks strewn about the forest until I finally see it in the distance. I came to a halt in front of the large tree. Three old ropes hung down from a ledge to the ground along with a large ladder incase one of us felt lazy one of the days. Or actual fort was lodged in between three really tall trees built in a triangle shape. there was a small balcony that was what we connected the ropes and ladder to then a circular door my dad helped us install. Inside there was two windows on each side of the triangle then another ladder that led to a sliding door on the ceiling. We used to go up there at night and look at the stars taking in the beauty of pretty much the only hole in the green blanket exposing the real world outside.
I stood there staring up at our masterpiece our parents helped us build when I was six and Liam and Mike were nine. Those were the days. Back when everything was normal. The complete definition of perfect to me. Mom wasn't depressed, dad was loving and caring, Liam was my best friend, I wasn't screwed up...everything was just right.
Liam was now standing next to me looking up at the tree house then he looked back to me smiling. His smile instantly faded then he stepped in front of me holding my face. I took my eyes off the tree house and changed my stare to him extending my arms up holding his forearms. His large hands cupped my cheeks. His thumb wiping away stray tears that fallen. I didn't even notice I was crying. Liam then embraced me into a hug "Are you okay babe?" He whispered. "Yeah I'm fine, it's just...everything has changed so much...I want to go back to the way it was before." I weeped. "Me too...me too." He spoke rubbing small circles on my back. He released from my grip and wiped away more tears. He dropped his hands to mine intertwining our fingers. "Come on." He smirked. "Race you to the top." Then Liam took off climbing up the rope farthest to the left which was his rope. I laughed jogging after him to my rope which was the one in the middle. Liam obviously won since he had a good head start plus I was a little out of shape I'm not gonna lie. The two of us were perched at the top of the balcony our legs hanging off the edge. His arm was wrapped around me keeping me warm after he noticed me shiver. Even though it was mid-summer, we still had some cold nights which I absolutely adored... this was one of those nights. That just made everything a million times more perfect. The sun was almost fully down and on the opposite side of the sun I saw the full moon followed by the dark midnight blue force it's way in the light blue's place.
Liam and I decided to go inside the house to look at everything that has changed. We stood up and on the large door hung a huge sign that read "Fort Sugar Sparkles" written in silver sparkles and a light pink paint. Liam chuckled under his breathe "I can't believe Mike and I let you name the fort." "Hey I was like five and I loved candy and sparkles plus this was MY birthday present so deal with it." I defended. "Fine whatever I geuss I do have to deal with it." Liam smiled. I just nodded and we walked inside.
