Chapter 30

I couldn't believe how far I had come alone on my tour already. The last two months passed by extremely fast and before I knew it, it was May. I had five more states to get through, including the one I was currently in.

Something else I couldn't believe was that Violet and I were still together. Part of me thought that we would have slowly drifted apart, but I kept my promise to her about me calling everyday. I did forget sometimes, but I answered immediately when she called me.

We talked for hours whenever I was just on the tour bus, driving to the next city. I still felt so close to her, even though I was in Michigan and she was in New York.

Recently, I had been feeling a bit weak, but I had been so stressed with the tour so Ii wasn't shocked. Some days, I had to go place after place and literally had no breaks in between, so I was exhausted when I got back to the tour bus. And it didn't help that I talked to Violet on the phone until, at the most, two in the morning.

Now I only had five concerts left, the last one being in New York City since it was my hometown. I thought it would have been nice to end there.

"Ready for the concert?" Dad asked as I watched Cannon perform on stage. He was my opening act, as well as one of my backup dancers and sometimes backup singer as well. He was very talented and when my record label owner suggested Cannon to be the opening act, I agreed.

"Yeah," I said. "Only five left. I can't believe how fast the tour went by. I'll miss the tour, for sure, but I'm going to be happy to be home again and see Violet. And Thunder."

"It's nice to see you happy again," Dad said. "I'm glad you and Violet decided to try dating again. She makes you happy."

"Yeah, she does," I said. "She's the main reason why I stop drinking. I haven't done it since we got back together, which is a good thing as well because I'm not supposed to be drinking alcohol because of my Wilson's disease."

"Yeah, you're not supposed to be drinking alcohol at all," Dad said. "You're underage."

I shrugged. "So were you when you had a problem."

"I'm just going to pretend that you didn't say that," Dad said.

We watched Cannon perform the rest of his set before it was my turn to go on. No matter how many performances I had to do in a week, or a month, I still loved it. I loved the feeling I got when I felt the spotlight on me and I loved the sound of my screaming fans. To know all these people love what I do and support me was an amazing feeling.

I performed song after song, feeling the adrenaline pumping through me after each song. It was such an amazing feeling.

Before I knew it, I had two more songs before I was done here in Michigan. I was going to miss this place, just like every state I went to, but the tour had to keep moving. At times, it was hard to keep up with because of my condition and I was on a certain diet because there were a few foods I had to avoid, but I wouldn't give up my tour for anything in the world.

For the second to last song, I had to take it a bit easy since the last song had a lot of dancing. So for this one, I had to stay in front of the microphone stand, that way I could save some energy for the last song.

The song I was performing now was one of my favorites. It was Violet's favorite as well. She had a request to have someone film me whenever I performed that song and send it to her so she could see how I did. And every time, she said she loved it.
