She called me 'Jessica'. Nicki just called me 'Jessica'. It has to be her, it just has to be. Of course there's always the possibility that she did it to prove a point or something, but I wouldn't believe it. Nicki's the one behind the love letters.
My theory was proven somewhat correct when I had no more letters the rest of the week. Luke was happy about it, but I was overjoyed. Especially since I've read her most recent letter, telling me of our encounter at the store. Yep, it was most definitely her.
So when the concert came, I had my eyes peeled looking for her. Hopefully, I didn't scare her off. Maybe going to her car was a bit far-fetched, but I didn't really think I made a mistake.
During my performance, I was looking out for Nicki the whole time. I just had to know if she was here. But I think she was purposely hiding from me.
Then it was time for the Meet 'n' Greet, and I was just ready to hurry and see Nicki again. If my assumptions are right, she should've been at the concert. And I wanted to catch her before she leaves, which I'm sure would be impossible since there are a lot of people.
Much to my satisfaction, she marched up to me at the end of the line, and I took in what she was wearing. Leggings that hugged her legs in all the right places and went to her boots, and a gray sweatshirt. Her hair was curled, and I felt like reaching out and running my hands through it. I slid my hands behind my back.
"I knew you wanted to see me," she told me confidently.
I smiled at her. She was 100% correct about that. "I was going to make an announcement, asking whoever wrote me those letters to admit it. I just wanted to know."
"How do you know it was me?"
"Because the signature is an 'N', and your name starts with an 'N'. And you wrote to me about our encounter the other day. And you never wrote me back since then. And you said you were going to be at my concert, and you are. And you called me 'Jessica'."
"They could've all been coincidences."
"Admit it," I told her. "You have been writing me these letters."
Nicki crossed her arms, trying to be difficult. "Alright, so what if I had? What would you have done?"
I acted on instinct and wrapped my arms around her, squeezing her firmly. "Thank you."
"For what?" She asked, hugging me back.
"For making me feel amazing and beautiful. Nobody's ever said those things to me before. They never compared my eyes as beautifully as you have or my fair skin. You've written whole paragraphs for each."
"Well...this is you we're talking about. I can write a whole book about you."
Nicki began to blush, and I grinned down at her.
"So, what now?" She asked.
That was a great question. In the midst of getting these letters, I thought I had fallen in love with Nicki. Well, I have in a way. She paid to the smallest details of me, like what I would do with my hands when I'm nervous. How she described my features so perfectly, she made me sound like the most beautiful person in the world. And I've dreamt of finding this person and giving them a huge kiss, telling them that I loved them.
But two things. One is Luke. Two is the fact that...I barely know her. Well, in the letters I know some of her. But I want to be able to memorize her face, what she feels like, her facial expressions, her natural scent.
"I don't know," I truthfully answered.
