"Let me take you on a date," Nicki suggested, looking hopefully into my eyes.

"A d-date? Nicki, you know I have a boyfriend."

But, I still wanted to date her. Was that bad? This beautiful, yet adorable, small, poetic woman, who somehow won my heart, wants to go on a date with me.

"Oh. Right. Sorry, I forgot--"

"Yes."

Nicki gave me a confused look. "Yes?"

"Yes, I will go on a date with you," I clarified.

I wanted to go on a date with her. To see if she was who she says she is. A woman who may have fallen in love with me, even though I never met her before.

"Give me your number," I said, handing her my unlocked phone.

She sheepishly took my phone and typed in her number before giving it back to me. Then I bent down and kissed her softly on her cheek. When I stood to my full height, Nicki hid her face by looking down. She was adorable.

"I'm free on Friday," I said.

She didn't look up, so I lifted her chin with my finger, and our eyes locked together.

"O-okay," she squeaked.

"Well, I'll see you then."

Nicki nodded then turned on her heel and walked away. My heart soared as I went back to my dressing room. She actually came! She gave me her number! I'M GOING ON A DATE WITH HER!

"How come you're so happy?" Luke asked me that night when I crawled into bed.

I shrugged nonchalantly. "Still got that buzz from the concert, babe."

"Must've been a pretty good show."

"Yeah."

"Any reason why?"

I hesitated before looking up at him. "No."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive. It was just another concert."

Luke gave me a funny look before shrugging and turning away from me. I sighed and faced away from him also, snuggling under the covers. No doubt he's suspicious. But maybe it's not so suspicious that he'll go to the ends of the earth to figure it out.

"Baby, I'm gonna come home late tomorrow evening," he said just before I was about to fall asleep.

"What time?"

"Maybe midnight or so."

"Oh..."

Midnight? That was late, even for Luke! Maybe he's going out with friends. Because surely no session would go all the way to midnight. You'd have to be mad to consider that.

But I soon fell to sleep, and all thoughts of Luke and his weird midnight thing disappeared...

Friday came, and I could barely contain myself. Nicki and I made arrangements to go see a movie at eight. It's stupid and cheesy, but for once I want to feel normal. And I want to go on a normal date with a normal person. Even if the normal person has been sending me love letters for months.

When I pulled up to the theater, Nicki was standing outside with popcorn and her phone out. I slid on my hood and shades before getting out. She looked around before spotting me and smiling.

"Sorry I'm late," I apologized.

"It's fine. I got popcorn," Nicki mentioned. "Well, that was a no-brainer. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what I've bought--"
