Part 7

"Hey y/n"

"Hey Soul, what's up?"

"I was wondering if we could hang out? You know just the two of us. But not on a date! Just as friends!"

"Sure we could hang out at my place."

"Ok. When can I come over?"

"You could give me a ride after school tomorrow."

"Cool, I'll see you then."

You walked to the park to meet Hiro for training. You were really excited because you loved working with him.

"Hey, Hiro!"

"Hey, y/n."

"So what's up?"

"Nothing much, you?"

"Not much either, except for hanging with Soul."

"Soul? Are you two a thing?"

"No! Nothing like that."

"Ok, good." He sounded relieved

"Good?"

"Um, let's just start training."

You and Hiro were becoming an awesome team. You really didn't want to leave him but you knew you would have to eventually. Maybe mom would let him join our side. I don't know if he'd want to join, though.

You were caught off guard and kicked in the chest. You must have been really lost in thought if you left yourself that open.

"Hey, you ok?"

"Yeah."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course one kick to the chest is nothing. Do you really think I'm that fragile?" You said jokingly.

"No, not that. It's just you were really spaced out there. You left yourself wide open! You would never do that if everything was fine."

"Yeah, sorry I just have a lot on my mind right now."

"Like what?"

"Stuff."

"What kinda stuff?"

"The stuffy kind of stuff?"

"C'mon you can tell me."

"No, I really can't."

"Why? Is it about me?" He said jokingly.

"Ha ha, don't be so cocky."

"Ok ok, but seriously I've told you stuff that I've never told anyone else. We're partners. We have to trust each other."

"Ok, I trust you. But you have to promise that no matter what happens you won't look at me differently."

"Ok, I promise. And nothing can ever change the way I look at you."

"Ok."

You take off your hat to reveal you cat ears and you release your tail. It's not what you were thinking but this is still a huge step in your partnership.

"Well, I lied."

"What?"

"This definitely changes how I look at you."

"In what way?"

"Well, normally when I think of you I think of a beautiful, smart, funny girl who is amazing in all aspects of her life."

"And now?"

"When I think of you I think of a beautiful, smart, funny girl who is amazing in all aspects of her life, who also has cat parts."

"You scared me! I thought that you would want a new partner!"

"And leave the one that I already have? No way!"

"So does anyone else know about your fluffy little secret?" He said petting your ears.

"Only one other person."

"Who?"

"Soul."

"You told him before me, your beloved and handsome partner!" He said over dramatically. Then the both of you fell over laughing.

"Oh and for the record, he found out, I never told him."

"That's good. I like your fluffy little secret, it's cute."

"Is that name going to stick?"

"Yes, yes it is."

Then, as cliche, as it sounds, you both fell asleep under a tree with you in his arms. What a way to end the day.
