"I have a stupid question." I turned to Angel as we walked down the road.

"What?"

"What year is it?"

He gave me a blank look, "1820, why?"

"Oh, then I am 16. Sorry, I have amnesia or something. I cannot quite remember anything before that house. Except the year I was born it seems."

"Oh, I can tell you, if you like."

"No, I want to find out for myself. If you do not mind."

"Not at all."

I smiled at him as we walked into a small café in the centre of the city. He ordered us drinks and food. I sat down at a small table and waited for him.

"Here," he placed my food and drink down.

"Thank you," I took a sip of the coffee he ordered for me.

"You are welcome. So, you have amnesia?"

"Apparently. The earliest memory I have is sitting in the dining room with that woman. I cannot remember anything before that."

"So, you do not know anything about yourself?"

"No, I also do not know who you are. Well, if I did know you before."

"No, I stayed in the shadows. I would help you in your subconscious when you needed it."

I took a bite of the small pastry, "Huh. That is interesting."

"How so?"

"Well, it is just you stayed in the shadows before..."

"And...?"

"Well, what made you come out now?"

He had a thoughtful look, "Well, it is just you seemed like you needed someone to help you. You looked quite lost just leaning against a wall. I figured it was about time to introduce myself and help you with whatever it was you needed."

"Oh, I see."

He smiled at me before taking a bite out of the pastry he ordered for himself. I bit my lip and looked down at my coffee. Using the spoon, I mixed the steaming drink even more, not wanting to look at the dark haired guardian angel.

He is pretty good-looking; jet black hair with a hint of blue, reddish eyes, and pale skin. Wait, red eyes? Hmm. I never thought an angel would have red eyes, plus I thought they were blue before. Whatever. I shrugged it off.

"What is on your mind?" he asked.

I glanced up, "What do you mean?"

He smirked, "You shrugged. What are you thinking about? Or maybe it is who."

"Nothing. I am not thinking about anything of importance."

"I see. Well, if there is anything you need to tell me or just get off your chest, do not hesitate to talk to me. I have helped you for years, so you should be able to trust me, right?"

"I-I guess."

I looked back down at my coffee, not trusting myself to make eye contact with the unknown guy who claims to have helped me in the past. If I have amnesia, anyone can tell me anything and claim it as the truth. I do not want to be lied to and have them pretend it is the truth. It will cause major problems if I ever get my memory back.

Speaking of which, I hope my memory does come back. I do not want to go around wondering who I am for the rest of my life. That will be bad for me. I need my identity. I do not have one when all I know about myself is my name and now my age. I do not even know where I was born or anything. I cannot recognize my accent when I talk. I do not know anything anymore.
